What rides can a 1 year old ride?

I am already planning a trip to WDW next Nov. with my Granddaughter who will be 1 on Oct. 31! I have NEVER been to WDW with someone that young, so, help me out DIS-ers!

On our last trip 10/03 we had my 15 month old neice w/ us. Alittle older than 1, but here's what she did. First, she really didn't like ANY character!! However, in the parades she loved them. I guess from a distance they were great. At MK-- she liked Pooh, was leary of Buzz Lightyear, loved TTA, was okay on Pirates, got a little scared at one part, did well on the Liberty Bell Boat, and was okay during Snow White and IASW. At MGM-- she HATED Indiana Jones, but did okay during Fantasmic (she preferred to play w/ her back to the show during this). She LOVED Playhouse Disney. That was all she went on there. At Epcot, she spent an hour at the Living Seas, did only okay w/ Spaceship Earth, and did just fine on the River of Time. Once again, that's all she did there. We didn't take her to AK. I don't think that park is really stroller friendly. We also took her to Universal Studios for a day. There wasn't any rides there she went on, however, she did well w/ most of the shows there. ANimal Planet, Barney, Beetlejuice, ect.

Hey I am an October 31 birthday too, a bit older than 1 :-(

My kids rode everything without a height restriction and it was one of the best trips. By about 18-22 months they start being more startled by noise, darkness and things that could be scary. At 1 they know no fear so even Haunted Mansion, Pirates and such were enjoyed by all. Take it slow and see how baby reacts, on the height restricted rides use baby swap so you don't have to wait in line double time.

I would suggest that you have dear dd or dil invest in a good snugli or sling if she doesn't have one already. Strollers arn't allowed in the the lines and you can even wear baby on the rides. Makes it much easier on the back and if necessary you can even nurse or feed baby in the sling/carrier.

Like others have said, our 1 year old went on all rides without a height restrictions. The only thing he didn't like was Fantasmic. It was too loud, but he also may have been too tired, hungry or overstimulated from a full day. We avoided all the 3D shows except for Muppetvision, which he was okay with. He did very well in other shows, too, especially liked Disney Playhouse. Our 1 year old wasn't walking yet. We brought stroller toys, but not a sling or carrier. My back would have collapsed with a 1 year old. If your toddler is walking, I would highly recommend the playground areas in each park. My 3 year old loved that.

This is my FIRST and hopefully ONLY Grandchild, so I am getting info together NOW! I already have a few videos, and her layette is nothing but POOH! Watch, she will HATE Pooh!

Anything that doesn't have height restrictions on it. At this age both my girls were fearless. Just amazed at everything really, characters were fasinating to them. It wasn't until my oldest had grown a littel that she became afraid of soem of the rides that before she sat back and just checked out. I guess her imagination was getting a littel more complex?!?
