We (me, wife, 16 and 11 yr old son's) will be at Universal for 4 full days (10/23-10/26) Staying at RPR.
My question is, if you were going to eat at a different restaurant for lunch and dinner for those 4 days (8 meals) what 8 places (between the 3 hotes, 2 parks and City Walk) would you chose to eat at?
give me your top 8 with your absolute "do not miss" selections highlited!!!

Thanks,

John

My wife and I ate at the Tchoup chop at the RPR and loved it. Conversly, we didn't like Emerils on City Walk. Mythos was very good and popular among everyone that posts. We also ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, but we were very disappointed, maybe an off day for them. The enchanted oak was fair. We would have to say Tchoup chop and Mythos for definate trys.

I go to Hard Rock Cafe everytime I'm at the parks...yes, that even means if I'm on a 3-day trip, I go once a day...:p We love HRC!! Cool place, nice staff, good food...PEPSI products :p (We end up getting the Boneless Bodacious Tenders, side of French Fries, Side of Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Wings, and the Shrimp Fet. Alfredo...)never had a bad experience, which is why I'm surprised people have...maybe just had high expectation, or "had an off day" like Prince Eric said. (EDIT: Oops! "We" is including my parents!!)

We also tried Margaritaville which had good food as well (personally got annoyed by the constant Jimmy buffet music...hey, I never said I chose the place!!).

I hear rave reviews about Mythos in IOA.

Cafe La Bamba and Monster's Cafe at Universal offer some decent counterservice.

my favorite restaraunts

i love the hard rock. my favorite is the pig sandswich. It is a spicy barbeque sandswich . all i can say is loooooove it.

my next favorite is margarittaville. I had the paradise cheeseburger. very good

i also like the nascar cafe. mostly for the ambiance though. my children especially loved it when the wheels would spin on the race cars above our heads.

I am interested in hearing everyones replies as well::yes:: !!

Also, which restaraunts would you say are the most FUN/unique for kids?? Mine are 2 and 5 by the way.

maci - although it's only counterservice, your kids might like Circus McGurkus (spelling?) in Seuss Landing. It's colorful and there are crazy Seuss-inspired characters hanging from the ceiling. :)

8 places to eat? Piece of cake!

1. Mama Della's at Portofino
2. Tchoup Chop at RPR
3. Jakes at RPR
4. Mythos at IOA
5. Thunder Falls Cafe at IOA
6. Margaritaville at CW
7. Latin Quarter at CW
8. NBA City at CW

Also like Confisco's for lunch at IOA and Oak tree Tavern if ThunderFalls is closed.
If breakfast is an option try either Bakery at IOA or USO.

Margaritaville!!! My kids loved it - they had a great children's menu, parrot mask, volcano bar. It is too cool!

And, FlyFly - shame on you!! Who could get sick of Jimmy Buffet songs??!!:earseek:

Just Kidding - but I could never get sick of it:teeth:

What can I say? Not my style :p Besides, if I hear my dad sing "Cheeseburger in Paradise" one more time I think I'll scream :p ;) J/K. I prefer the music over at Hard Rock Cafe, thank you very much :teeth:

I love this thread. This one is easy:

1. Mythos
2. Mama Della's
3. NBA City
4. Hard Rock Cafe
5. Emeril's or Tchoup Tchoup
6. Margaritaville
7. Lombard's Landing
8. Thunder Falls Terrace

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions so far.
Based on what I have seen on here so far and what I have read previously, I am starting to develop my list of where to eat.
So far it looks like we just have to eat at:

1. Mama Della's Looks like so much fun
2) Mythos Too many great reviews on here
3) Margaritaville I cant get enough Jimmy Buffet
4) Latin Quarter Just sounds very cool
5) NBA City 16 & 11 yr old boys!

I'll have to pass on Hard Rock We've eaten there so many times.

Pass on the two Emeril restaurants, a bit pricey and don't think the boys would appreciate, although maybe wife and I should go and let the boys grab a pizza....

Thanks and keep the idea's coming!!!

John
