What Restaurants Would Be Most Fun For Small Children?

Are there any places that describe what the various restaurants are like to help us decide what would be the most fun for our grandchildren (ages 3 and 6)? All I can seem to find are menus and I am much more interested in fun things to look at or to look for. I seem to recall that one of the Harry Potter restaurants had Harry's owl fly through from time to time for example. Thanks.

During non COVID times Margaritaville has people on stilts that make balloon animals for kids. There is also a volcano eruption every so often.

The mariachi band at Antijllos is very good as well. I believe that is currently happening again.

The larger Seuss Landing restaurant might be fun. It's called Circus McGurkus. It's a pretty standard quick service with basic food, but the Seuss Trolly ride goes inside and around the building. They can wave to the people on the ride. The inside is also circus themed. It's not the most exciting place ever, but it's cute.

I don't remember Hedwig flying through either of the HP restaurants, but there are some sound effects throughout, and I think they have some light and shadow effects to make things look like they are moving around, especially above the dining area.

Circus McGurkus was not open early June. But re-openings have been happening quickly, so maybe that has or will change.
I agree its a great restaurant for the kiddos!

I agree that YouTube will be the best place to see more of the goings on at the various restaurants.

The Kitchen at Hard Rock Hotel used to have tableside magicians during dinner hour on Fridays. This was pre-Covid, so I'm not sure if they've brought it back, but it was a lot of fun for all ages.

Thank you all for all your great ideas. I love magic - the magician is not back - yet - at The Kitchen but could return at any time, they just don't know, so I made a ressie there "just in case" since that is the one place that would need to be "time specific" I figure. The rest we will plan to do when available (or when raining - will try to watch the weather reports to try to snag a ressie for when rain is expected lol).

Pretty sure you can watch Simpsons episodes in the Springfield food court (I don't remember what mobile order calls the whole site - I usually just call it Krusty Burger:)...

Go to mythos - they’ll love all the water and if you ask for a booth they can sleep when they get tired while the adults get desert

Probably Toothsome - given the wacky Robot that visits the table- should bring in a few giggles (or horrified looks depending on how they react to wacky character visits) plus those mega milkshakes they will enjoy.

In all honesty though, in my experience (as someone whose been through it with two kids)- kids hate sit down dinner. I've spent years picking "fun" places to appeal to them at theme parks, but sit-down dinner will always be the drag keeping them from the fun (the attractions). That experience is for adults and if you do it, its for us way more than its for them, and if you want something to appeal to them, make it a quick serve that gets them in and out ASAP, lol.

That said, I like sit down dinner (and Im sure you do too) so go with whatever sounds good LOL, and those buggers can sit through it (I'm such a great dad ;)

Toothsome is amazing. Great fun, great food and make sure you interact with the staff....and mention Unicorns, they LOVE talking about unicorns.

Mine loved Toothsome and the Simpsons food court (this is a good option because it lets everyone order what they want). Mine also loved the Three Broomsticks, but Leaky Cauldron was a disappointment.

I agree that for our kids, sit down dinner is tough. They'd much rather do quick service. So finding those restaurants that are kind of a hybrid are nice! Something like Bread Box was a winner for us.

We are here now and can’t stress how important making a lunch reservation is. If we had kids with us we couldn’t imagine waiting in the quick service lines. Either that or eat at a hotel. We had lunch at Mythos and they seemed to have decent kid options and great desserts for kids as well. It looks cool as well.

Unless looking for a sit down meal specifically, I agree with Simpsons' Fast Food Boulevard. It provides lots of different options so everyone can find something they like, it's more quick service style so can be as quick or long as you want, has a fun atmosphere especially if can grab a spot in the Moe's area, and plays clips from the show that could keep the kids entertained while waiting to get food or eating.

Haha and I bet they will need a quick nap (though I might also!)

Yes from the reports I see of long lines I am afraid to count on counter service (no pun intended).

Thank you all for your great ideas.
