Hi,

We rented points for July and I heard that if you show your DVC room card you can get discounts at certain restaurants. Is this true?

We has PS for:

50' Primetime
SciFi
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys
Hollywood & Vine (fas)

I am also considering O'Hana's and Liberty Tree.

Thanks..and any info. is appreciated.

There are discounts-I do not believe at any of these restuarants at the present time-but you need to show your DVC menmber card as well in most cases or this is the rule at least... in other words if you rent you are not entitled to memebr discounts. But people in some cases still get them but the list changes frequently.
good luck :earsboy:

You should receive a brochure called "Pocket Perks" at check-in that lists the discounts currently available to DVC members. Note that DVC now officially requires the blue membership ID card be presented in order to obtain most perks. You will not have such a card.

That said, many CMs still consider the room key to be adequate in order to grant the discount. Personally I wouldn't customize your dining selections in hopes of a discount because you just may not get it.

The best discounts are available at the restaurants at the Dolphin and Swan. If memory serves we get 20% off of all meals at all restaurants except Shula's. Other Disney locations are fairly limited...the discount is only 10%...and the discount is frequently applicable for lunch only.

Here's a sheet put together by Starshine on these boards, which lists DVC and AP discounts. If you don't have AP's, just look at the DVC ones.

This was done last year, so as tjkraz points out, make sure you check in your packet at check-in to make sure which restaurants will take the discount.

None of the restaurants you list give DVC members a discount.

Best wishes -

I suggest that you try Marrakesh for lunch. It is not crowded, has excellent food, entertainment and you get a discount.

The Cape May has excellent food and more than you should eat. My daughter remarked that I should not consider a buffet as a challenge. I say, do not eat the day before or the day after and go for it. You just must try some of everything, plus a couple deserts.

U need to be a DVC member to get discounts at the verious locations that give it to members. But if U are going to be there long enough and eat at mostly Disney locations U might be better off to pay for a Disney Dinning Experience card. $75 and for DVC members $50. Good for one year and U get 20% off of everything at any Disney location for food and booze where they have " table service" we save a ton of money just off our bar tab at the BWVs.We also eat at locations that we might not have because the 20% puts some of them into an area that is more reasonable in price. :cool1: :rotfl:

You need to be a FL resident or have an annual pass (must actually have the pass or voucher - they ask for the number) to get the DDE card. DVC membership does not get you the card. It costs $75 for FL residents and $50 for AP holders.

The DDE is NOT good at every Disney food and beverage outlet...but it is accepted at most. The venues that accept DDE are subject to change, but they include most of the better restaurants as well as a lot of the less expensive outlets. As another poster noted, the fact that the discount applies to alcoholic beverages is a big plus to folks who like wine with dinner or a couple of beers by the pool.

A current listing of outletw which accept DDE is available on the main WDW website.
