LeCellier and the clam bake at the Cape May Cafe. The most surprising meal we had on our last trip in 2000 was at Boatwright's Dining Hall. All seven of us were pretty beat so we decided just to grab dinner at the hotel. They had the best crab chowder. My daughter, who is now 15, still makes it every Christmas Eve. It's now a tradition that our whole extended family loves.

We went to Whispering Canyon for the first time during our last trip in September. We LOVED it. It will be a 'do not miss' for us from now on. Food was great, lots of it, and fun atmosphere.

What kind of food do you like? That could make a difference in what kind of recommendations you will get.

I liked the Coral Reef, but not so much for the food as the view. Same with Cinderella's Castle.

Spoodles (the best flatbread pizza appetizers anywhere!!!!) and second the Cape May!!!!!

Have a great trip!!!!

For us, it is Jiko's at AKL. Beautiful presentation of foods. Wonderful choices. First time we took the kids and they even had kid appetizers to pick from. DD got celery stick, carrots and dip. Last year we sent the kids to kids club and had grown up only dinner. Quite nice.

We also really enjoyed Le Cellier. We liked the atmosphere and the girls seemed to enjoy the food. (They gobbled down the breads and really had fun with the chocolate moose mousse.)

If your girls are a bit more adventurous, I would suggest a lunch at the Moroccan restaurant. They have very good food. I think there is a kids menu as well. Also have a bellydancer that brings the kids out to middle of floor for lesson. Really fun time.

If your girls are looking for "grown up" dinner with an incredible view - then I would suggest California Grill. I have a really cute pic of one of my DD looking out the window toward the castle.

Lots of good comments over on Restaurant board as well.

The only place requiring a PS that we eat at every single trip is Crystal Palace. We always have lunch there. The place is very nice and the food is excellent. We would eat there whether it was a character meal or not. We go for the food. We never go for dinner because lunch is just as good and cheaper.

I wouldn't say the food is excellent but I would NOT miss the Sci-Fi or 50's Prime...I love the atmosphere of those two places.

I have to agree with Crystal Palace. It is a lovely setting with great food. The characters are a bonus. That said, it has been getting some poor reviews lately on the restaurant board.

We also never miss Ohana. It has been a tradition fo 6 trips. DD loves it there.

LeCellier is our favorite. It is a must do on every trip.

All time favorite:
Ohana at the Polynesian!!!!!!!

Le Cellier and the Japanese one in EPCOT (Tempanyaki or something like that)

We love "OHana's!!! We never miss it when we are in Orlando!!! It's by far my DH most favorite place (mine too)! My boys both love Rainforest Cafe!

We are planning to try Ohana for the first time on our trip next year. I am very excited about it!

We don't. We have current favorites - but because there are lots of new places to try, we try to keep an open mind.

Marrakesh was a favorite for us for three trips, we will do it next trip, though, only if we can't find another restaurant we'd rather try. It isn't that the food went downhill (though the service last time wasn't great) - its that we "found" other restaurants - and are interested in "finding" more.

Our repeats for next year will be Le Cellier and Teppanyaki.

New restaurants for next year are Sci Fi (for the atmosphere), Alfredos (new because its been 15 years since I've been), Beaches and Cream, and I'm trying to talk DH into doing the Cape May Character breakfast (we've done Ohana's for the past two trips). If my daughter improves her table manners for the next year, I'll try Flying Fish as well.

Agree totally, except my kids love pooh! We also enjoy the Brown Derby at MGM. If you really want to have a nice meal and are going to fantasmic, try and get the package.

50's prime time dinner - have a big late lunch and you will only need to snack for dinner.

Ohana's - liked breakfast and dinner

1900 Park Faire for breakfast - my favorite but have yet to try cape may cafe.

cape may clambake for dinner - great seafood buffet.

So many restaurants, so little time

There are lots of places that we love at WDW. Depends on what you like, but on the top of our list (in no particular order) are:

Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge)
Yachtsman Steakhouse (Yacht Club)
Beaches & Cream (Beach Club)
Flying Fish (Boardwalk)
Portobello Yacht Club (Downtown Disney)
Victoria & Alberts (Grand Floridian)
Le Cellier (Canada - Epcot)
Teppenyaki (Japan - Epcot)
Brown Derby (Studio)
'Ohana (Polynesian)

Liberty Tree Tavern is a NOT miss, especially if you like an all-the fixings turkey dinner! My Dh rarely compliments a meal, he said it was the best turkey dinner he has ever had, even beat his moms!

But also, Chef Mickey's is a must do at least once, so you can say you've been! LOL
