Opps,

I'm so sorry, I thought the post said which ones would you go to again, sometimes I read to fast, I gotta slow down, disregard previous post.

No Value Resorts for me - Every time we've stayed at one it felt like we were at a Days Inn. There were too many unaccompanied children running around & yelling & check-in has always been a nightmare.

I also wouldn't return to the CSR. We had one bad experience there & it just didn't have the "Disney" feel.

I doubt that I would stay at CSR again--just didn't like the spread out feel to the place or the theming. Other than that, I would stay at any of the ones I've visited.

We had an awful stay at the Beach Club in Oct., 1998. It was so bad that we didn't go back to Disney for almost 4 years. The first room that we were in was incredibly noisy. The people next door LOUDLY sang happy birthday to someone before 5AM one morning. They screamed non-stop, too. I think that they had at least 2 over-tired kids, and the walls at this resort are paper-thin IMHO. We finally asked to be moved, and we were...to a room that was even worse! We didn't sleep much the entire 7 nights, and we absolutely could not wait to go home.

Then, stupidly, we gave BCV a chance last year. We were put in a studio next to the elevator. All night long, we got to hear "whoosh! Thud! Whoosh! Thud!" over and over again. Apparently, the elevator mechanism was right above our studio:rolleyes: Again we had to ask to move because of noise at night. The second studio was better noise-wise, but we've still sworn off anything associated with the Beach Club:eek:

Hmm, the imagery on this one is pretty funny :teeth:

After reading this thread, I think that I will not ever visit CBR... we've occasionally had problems at the different resorts, but nothing that would ever swear me off from going back... some of the stories here though, well, they just make ya think :earseek:

Ft Wilderness Cabins. They were very nice, large, and it was nice having a kitchen. But....they were very remote. Had to take a bus just to get to the boat launch, restaurant, and store. We never used the pool, and felt like we were in a subdivision not a vacation home.

After one good discount rate at WL, we're hooked. We love it there.

... we had a wonderful 11 night stay at AKL! I read some of the posts earlier in this thread from people who didn't like it, but then, where would we be if we all liked the same things?
The hotel was beautiful: we loved the theming, the attention to detail, the atmosphere. Some have said that it's not 'Disney' enough, but IMO the Disney's in the detail. There are no characters, certainly, but I, for one, didn't miss them and enjoyed the contrast with the parks.
Some say that AKL is dark: well, the lighting is subdued throughout - but that's in keeping with the theme and adds to the atmosphere, IMO, and makes the place a wonderful respite from the Florida sun.
We found the front desk staff to be extremely helpful: one, Mary Lou from TX, spent a lot of time with us when my mother broke her glasses (at Typhoon Lagoon!). Mary Lou could not have been more helpful, tracking down an eye doctor who would see her that morning and have the glasses made for her later the same day.
Some have mentioned mosquitoes: well, we weren't particularly aware of them at AKL (even in the pool), but were troubled by them elsewhere. (My parents were both bitten during breakfast at Chef Mickey's!)
We loved our meal at Boma and found the Mara perfectly acceptable for a fast food court.
So, as I say: we had a wonderful stay and I have no problem at all with others whose opinions are different to mine!

POP - horrible parking, horrible bus service, didn't like the food court, no variety and overpriced, long walk to everywhere, didn't feel the Magic

I wouldn't return to a value resort - of course years ago when we couldn't afford anything else it was great. But, we thought the beds were awful. It was quite loud and bustling with kids, which is normal because it is WDW. But as a childless couple, it's just not our thing. I think if we did have kids my opinion would change. I suspect they love the big icons and the pools are pretty cool. Just not our thing.

I feel the same way, I know the values are great for families on a budget, not that I am wealthy! but I just feel they should also have a quiet area, the pool was overrun with kids with no supervision also the food court! Not only that but I felt it was such a long bus ride to the parks and the busses were usually packed!

WAIT! Are you talking about values here or the Epcot resort bus loop?!? ;)
Believe me, the values have better bus service than the Epcot resorts!

The only Disney resorts that I have stayed at and will never return to are "The Golf Resort"and the Villas at Disney Village (Villas at Disney Institute) This is because they don't exist anymore. :(

Someone here had posted they were not happy w/one of the resorts b/c the room was suppose to be a Non smoking room but smelled terribly of cigerette smoke. They said "an inconsiderate smoker smoked in a non smoking room". May I make a comment here.......first off let me say I'm a non smoker. I DETEST cigerettes and the smoke. BUT my husband is a smoker and for the most part, a very considerate smoker. He NEVER throws the butts outside, when we are at the beach he puts the cigerettes out in the same spot in the sand and then picks them up and throws away inside a cup or plastic bottle. When we go to the mtns hiking, he always puts his butts out and then puts them back into the cigerette pack and throws away when we get back into the parking lot where our car is. So on his behalf, he is pretty considerate.

Now as far as the room smell goes, when I made our reservation at the POR I told them we had to have a smoking room. No problem. When we checked in I told the CM we needed a smoking room. Ok, right now all avaible was smoking rooms but gave us a key to the room so we could get into the parks. When we come back from the park, swap out the keys and they'd give us a smoking room. Ok, Great. Came back from a great day at MK and went to res desk to swap out keys. Oh, sorry no smoking rooms available, don't worry about it go ahead and smoke in the room, we'll have housekeeping bring you an ashtray. Are you sure? Yes, fine, no problem. Ok. It was late Sunday night, we were tired, just wanted shower and bed. Monday morning no ashtray, went to park came back, no ashtray. Went by res desk reminded them ok we'll take care of it. Well after telling them this more than 3 times, I gave up and hubby smoked outside the room or used a paper cup or empty Coke bottle as his ashtray.
So.....it's not always an inconsiderate smokers.

Caribbean Resort was the worst hotel experience of my life.

Killed a roach in the bathroom the first night.

Rubber seal under the door was missing. When we woke up in the morning, several bugs had crawled into the room. I did not know they were there until I stepped on them with my bear feet.

I killed and removed all living bugs before heading out. However, there were still a few dead ones that I just left. I expected housekeeping to vacuum them up. When we got back, the bed had been made, but the dead bugs were still lying on the floor.

The box spring on the bed was completely busted.

The staff was horrible.

The worst for me has to be the Pop! I have stayed at them all except the camp grounds. The Pop has to be the worst. Also I will never stay at a value. Learned my lesson. If I can't stay at a moderate or a deluxe,I will not go!

We will never stay at the Poly again. Out of our 31 stays at WDW resorts we were treated like s--t only once at check-in and it was at the Poly. This stay was about 7 years ago and the resort may have changed, but it seemed dirty and outdated to us. We didn't like the sinks being in the same room as the tub/shower and stool. It just wasn't our cup of tea. We love 'Ohanas, but not the rest of it.

Listed below are the WDW resorts we have stayed at from our favorite to least favorite and number of times we have stayed at each:

1) WL-18
2) GF- 8
3) BWI-1
4) AKL- 2
5) DL- 1
6) Poly- 1

I've stayed at the Poly, POR,Contemporary. and CBR I would stay at them all again EXCEPT for the CBR The pools were small, had to drive to the food court and a lousy food court it was. It was insane how far we were from the food court, who wants to have to drive or take a bus for a soda?? We would go to the park and come back to the room at 2 to nap and the room still wasn't cleaned! We would put the do not disturb sign up and they would still knock on the door to clean it between 3-4!! I just didn't care for that place at all.

I don't think we will be staying at Pop Century again. The resort was nice, the rooms were clean, my DS loved the pools and arcade but it just wasn't for me. We stayed in the 80s section and it felt like it took forever to get to the main building. Plus I thought the wait for buses was very long (both to and from the parks). We went over to the BC for breakfast during our recent trip and I missed staying there. Next trip will be at the BC or BWI!

The Poly. ...We also found the setup of the bathroom inconvenient [ ALL bathroom amenities inside the enclosed bathroom area ]. The Contemporary is also the same way. Disney must have realized the negative aspect of this setup - no resort built afterward has this layout.
Just goes to show that everyone's different -- this is my favorite part of the Poly. I love getting up first and not disturbing anyone while I take a shower, etc., etc. I can't stand splashing water into the "closet" at the mods or the light brutally shining into the whole room when I just want to wash my hands.

I would prefer not to stay again at CBR - HATED it ! But, never say never, ya just never know.

You know, after perusing the threads on this topic, I find myself reflecting upon how fortunate the posters are to have such annoyances as a resort being too large, to many bugs, DD or DS didn't like the food or the walk to the bus stop is too far. Life is about perspective and experiences that form those perspectives. I guess after 11 months in Iraq and day after day wishing I were home, creates a whole new mindset for those less fortunate. For the record, my favorite is AKL. However, at this point, I would sleep on a bus just to be in the happiest place on earth.

Happy to be in country.....
