What resort would you not stay at again?

I would put OKW and SSR at the bottom but they are still better then any value resorts.

We will be doing our first dvc trip this summer so I can't speak for the DVC resorts but I can say that my DW hated port orleans Riverside. We all know that if the DW's not happy, nobody's happy. On our first trip our first trip we stayed in POP and enjoyed it, to include the noisey pool.

please note, we are not experts on Disney resorts this is only our opinion.

If you mean DVC resorts, we wouldn't stay at BWV. It was a been there, done that moment for us.

I agree, it wasn't a BAD resort and there really wasn't anything wrong with it, but it just wasn't "us." Same with SSR. We WILL be staying at our home resorts, OKW, AKV (Kidani) and VB and I wouldn't mind doing SSR Treehouses again, and WLV may yet be in our future, but SSR and BWV (also BCV) just don't do much for us. DH will want to do BLT at some point, but that one doesn't appeal to me much, either. I'm perfectly happy with our 3 'homes.' We would also be happy to return to POR, ASM, POP, and WL but those are not so likely now that we have DVC! ;)

DVC resort would have to be OKW. Although we did say we would give it another try. We so wanted to love it but we had so many problems and issues it was hard. When we visited the resort again last month DH and I said we would have to try it again. Its just too pretty to hate.

For regular resorts any of the values. Pop was why we bought DVC. Although my DS is already begging for one night at the new Art of animation resort.

We've stayed at OKW, WLV, and AKV. Hotel wise, we've stayed at CBR and CSR. I wish all DVC properties were like OKW, in that you could drive right up to the villa. I realize a lot of folks fly to WDW, but lately, we always drive. You can't beat the convenience of OKW for unloading everything.

Anyway, DVC has thoroughly spoiled us. We always get a two bedroom wherever we are. On the rare occasions we have to get a hotel room to visit somewhere else, I always think...I wish this were DVC!!!

I really didn't like BLT when we stayed there January, 2010. Of course, the weather was horrible that week (high 20's at night high 40's daytime) so we didn't use the pool or any outside activities at the resort. I also think the weather contributed to the "cold" feeling of the BLT decor.....at least IMO....just didn't like it. I'm also not crazy about BCV......love the location just not the place. For those that have said they don't care fore BWV.....I love the location and my favorite rooms are high floor facing the canal (near Jellyrolls).....I know it's a verrrry long hall walk, but, I just love to sit on those balconies in the early a.m. in my p.j.'s with a coffee and watch the Friendship boats travel the canal.........one of my favorite peaceful WDW moments. Our whole family also loves the ambiance of VWL and I've come to really like and appreciate the convenience of SSR.....only if you have a car with you and can park right outside your villa.....this past January I booked a last minute few day trip and did not have a car and found it to be just a little inconvenient even though I was in a Springs building........can't imagine what it would be like w/o a car in one of the further buildings. We just got back from Kidani a few weeks ago and I also liked it there, however, having bus transportation only was a minor inconvenience.

We stayed for 2 nights at CSR last year when we were low on points and will never go there again. The room was dirty, the water outside smelled, and the place just gave me the creeps. Love every DVC resort because they are all different. I don't care if it's the quiet back side of OKW, the farthest walk to the Savannah View, the loud people at BWV, or the woods at the WLV. Whatever - it's all good with me.

For DVC we are working our way around. Preference in order for stays so far
SSR, OKW, BWV. Doesn't mean we wouldn't stay BWV again, just my least favorite so far. Staying BLT in Sept and will add that in appropriately.

One stay at ASM and have no desire to ever stay there again.

Jim

For you folks that don't like BWV...I'll gladly take your reservation off your hands...if your giving it away.

Dh and I didn't particularly care for our room in Kidani Village. It was a standard view. We didn't mind not having a view, but the room was pretty far down the hallway...I think it may have been off property. ;) It was just easier to drive everywhere.

I wouldn't want to stay at OKW again unless we were near the HH. It's very important to us to be near the pool and lobby area. The reported parking problem there is unimportant since we only want to park our car once for the entire trip, and we don't need to park right outside our door. I do think I would have enjoyed OKW a lot more if we had been near HH, and would try it again with that location.

Haven't stayed at AKV, but wouldn't want to stay there for a long stay. Would like to stay in Jambo for two or three days on a split stay. No desire to stay in Kidani -- too far from the lobby and main pool area of Jambo.

Really, if a resort is so spread out that it has to use an "internal bus" to transport guests from one place to another, I'm not much interested in staying there.

Under no circumstances would Dh and I stay at Old Key West again. The bus service was terrible, no adequate place, really, to get a quick bite, resort was waaaay too big and spread out for us. Had to hike quite a way to refill my mug. Had I known it was the only place on property to refill, would never have wasted my money since it was so inconvenient. Also, on our last night there, I woke up to something crawling on my neck only to find it to be a three inch (I kid you not!) black bug of some kind. :scared1: DH found it and killed it, but I couldn't get back to sleep. I realize the bug could have been in any resort, but it just creeps me out to think of OKW.

Haven't found any of the resorts to be either personally or objectively distasteful. There are some resorts at the bottom of my booking list, but none that I wouldn't happily take if need be.

My 2 least fav resorts are BWV and AKV (I only tried Kidani). That being said I def would stay at both of them.. Certainly not a Disney snob, if I am there I will enjoy what is there. I would shy away from All stars, cause I need my coffee pot and my covered waiting area, but again I would stay there, it would be a later choice though.

BWV (we mostly get DP or DDP) almost all the places to eat do not take DP. 1 of them cash only, hardly ever carry any. The pool isn't a walk-in pool, and the hallways are never-ending, parking is terrible. We love the location, the nightlife, the views.. but would be way below BC, SSR, BLT for choice. (Order of fav for choices.)

AK maybe it was a bad trip only stayed ones. There were no animals hardly anywhere. We say maybe 10 animals over about 3 days. Between pool, hallways, walk around areas. Also the bus ride was awful from MK. Standing room only with a DD6 a stroller, and 3 bags of crap we shouldn't have bought seemed to last forever.

With all the threads bashing SSR, I would have thought it would have been a popular answer .. Most commonaly just an issue with caros location. Which I agree with, but without a point chart change always a chance.

Wow, I'm surprised by the AK dislike. I love that resort, there is so much to do there and I like the darker decor. I realize the walks can be long, but oh well.

The only bump in the road I've had so far was OKW. I didn't care for the rooms themselves since they hadn't been remodled. Everything was warn and the appliances had rust on them. Maybe it's a lot better since the refurb though.

The only resort i will NVER stay at again is OKW. THe desk person was very rude to us. She did not have our reservation. Even called us curses. We showe dher our reservation print out. we had to wai an hour after that for the manager to show up. Then anouther 2 hours for our room to be ready.

Then when we got into our 2 bedroom their was a huge puke stain right in the middle of the living room floor so we had to wait again for another room.

Worst dvc resort ever.

I dont like ssr But we have always been treated nice there . I love kidani as its my home resort BUt i do not feel a savanah view is worth it. we got a savanah view but where at the end farthest from jambo and only had 1 animal the entire time there. So standard view next time. (doesnt matter because our nights were spent at the fire pit in the savanah.

So far, none. We purchased DVC in 2007, and have stayed in all of the DVCs except BLT. DH and I have our favorites (they are differnt!), but have said we would definitely continue to resort hop since we have really enjoyed them all.

If we sold our points tomorrow, our biggest challenge would be the sleeping arrangements, but we'd make it work. I have zero problems with the values. We stayed in all of the All Stars before joining DVC, and really enjoyed them. I especially liked the Movies. DS plays hockey, and we were in the Mighty Ducks section. Was pretty cool! :thumbsup2

I'd eventually like to try Pop and the new resort they are building. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie (with Enchanted now running a close 2nd), and I want to stay in that section! :rotfl: We have not stayed in the moderates, but we have visited all of them, and they seem very nice.

I have stayed at all the East Coast DVCs and find something to like about all of them. AKV is probably my favorite -- where else in America can you watch zebras and giraffes outside your hotel room? DH always says it's just a place to sleep and shower and the water is just as wet at all of them (he is little help in planning!).

When it comes to the regular resorts, I didn't like our stay at All Star Movies. The room was badly in need of refurbishment. We had added on an arrival night there and were doing a dining package at All Stars in a freshly redone room -- what a difference that made. We've stayed at Pop 4x, and I too am looking forward to the family suites at the Art of Animation. Those new Murphy beds seem so cool. Maybe our soon to be arriving granddaughter will want to visit there ... :lovestruc
