What requests should I make for an AKV deluxe savannah Studio . . .

AKL has two buildings, Jambo (the original one with DVC rooms on top floors, 5 and, over the lobby, 6), and Kidani, for which all rooms are DVC, floors 2 to 5. By not in the "main building" I assume you are referring to Kidani rather than Jambo. If Kidani, just ask for close to the lobby (and possibly lower floor if you want more direct sight line to animals). Close to the lobby means you would be on the sunset savanna (which is the largest and has giraffes), have good view of animals, and avoid being far from the lobby which for Kidani can be more than 1/4 mile walk to the end rooms away from the lobby.

If Jambo, our usual request is Zebra Trail away from the lobby. The rooms there look out over the Arusha savanna (in the middle of the U-shaped building), have good views of animals, and face west so that you do not get blinding sun into the room in the morning but see pleasant sunsets in the evening. Nevertheless, you cannot go wrong with most any savanna view rooms at Jambo.
