What rain jacket do you bring?

After being at DW during tropical storms all week last trip, I have decided to buy a rain jacket to carry in my small backpack to park.

We used Ponchos last time, and got soaked anyway. I am looking for good quality lightweight rain jacket that is fitted, and can fold up easily.

Any go-to jackets for theme parks? Thanks!

I'm a golfer so I bring my wet gear top as a rain jacket. It folds down nicely to fit in our small draw string backpack. I also had one sent to me for my wife recently as she could never find any wet gear that she liked or would work.

They are short sleeved though that is no concern to us. Works great obviously as you can spend up to five hours on a golf course in rain and not get wet at all under the gear.

I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/Eastern-Mountain-Sports-Thunderhead-Jacket/dp/B00BG0KPUI which I love whenever I have to carry a 'just in case' rain jacket. It keeps me completely dry and it's paper thin so it's very light and folds very small, and it's not hot. I also have a fleece lining for it that comes separately and attaches inside, which I love for trips where some days I might need a bit of extra warmth. Yay for layering ;)

I have one from Eddie Bauer that I really love. It's high quality that folds nicely into a little pouch. They have two styles (a light weight one and a heavier one). Light weight would be perfect for those Orlando storms.

I have a very lightweight and breathable rain jacket from Marmot. It is breathable enough to run in, so you won't get wet from the inside out. But it was quite pricey (maybe around $70) if you're looking to outfit a family. Or you can just let the kids get wet like I do !!! LOL

We use our Gortex windbreakers from LL Bean or North Face. Thye keep you dry, have pit zips for venting and fold pretty small for a backpack. They are kind of expensive but they are good quality, you can use them as a top layer in the winter with a fleece under and they last years!

Ours are also from Eddie Bauer and fold up into themselves in a pouch. I would check with them, Lands End or LL Bean as all sell qualty rain gear. Since we rarely use them but always pack them for trips just in case, we figure they will last a good long while, so I didn't mind springing for them. I know we'll have them for a long time. Good luck!

We also bought two of these Samsonite lightweight umbrellas. I wish you could see from the picture how thin they are when folded up and they are super light. I actually bought them for a June trip to use to block the sun while walking or waiting, not for the rain. I have used them in other locations in the rain, but I don't think they would be good in high winds but they are good to have as a VERY lightweight option to keep in your backpack.

I have a seven-year-old Columbia rain jacket that I absolutely love. (This is the current version on Columbia's website.) It's lightweight and folds up into one of its own pockets, so it's very convenient for travel. We usually get away with using ponchos in the parks, but this jacket goes with me everywhere else.
