What rain gear do you bring to the parks?

Hi - Usually go in Sept - can be rainy, but the downpours only last about 15 mins. "We", well my hubby" used to carry all of our rain jackets in a backpack. Now I just buy rain ponchos at the Dollar Store and carry them in a small bag - so much easier and lighter!

We use the 2 dollar ponchos too. They are very small and easy to carry. They do the job and aren't cumbersome.

For the rain, heavy ponchos (from Seaworld, lol) kept in gallon storage bags so we have somewhere to put them when the shower is over, cheapo dollar store ponchos for Kali that we can toss out or hand off to other guests if they want them.

I am strongly considering getting a rain jacket/ waterproof windbreaker. For those of you who use them, what brand/style do you use?

If there's only a slight chance of rain I bring a cheapy rain poncho but the rest of my family brings nothing -- they don't mind getting wet in their park clothing (I do). If it's going to rain all day, we bring our Disney rain ponchos. I've considered buying the lightweight rain jackets that fold up small enough to fit in a large pocket, but they're shorter than the rain ponchos and I prefer the longer coverage the ponchos offer.

We bought some slightly better $9 ponchos. The snaps stay together a bit better and they don't rip quite as easily.

One day I want to upgrade to some kind of windbreaker, but, I've never found one that would do the job and still roll up into something small enough to carry on a regular basis.

Dollar store ponchos...small, light and we toss when done. I buy a bunch and love them..plus we don't mind getting wet at Disney..anything is better than snow to us!

Dollar store ponchos as well. I place one in my pocket, and unless it rains hard I won't even use it. I refuse to carry anything more cumbersome.

Depends on the temperature. Cooler times we'll wear gore-tex jackets, maybe bring an small umbrella. Hotter times we'll carry dollar ponchos if we expect quick shower, just in case. Steadier rain in the forecast, we have small umbrellas we bought at WDW one year for $10-$12. When it's hot, I'd rather get a little wet than sweat under a poncho.

Don't forget the shoes. Yes, I regretted wearing my running shoes that absorbed all of the water. My body was dry because I had an Eddie Bauer wind breaker/rain coat but my feet were drenched.

Dollar store ponchos. Rain proof jackets/windbreakers are often too hot if you go in the summer when rain is most likely. Umbrellas just don't play well in crowds (their pointed ends wind up a eye level of the guests around you) and the wind that often accompanies the afternoon thunderstorms will quickly trash the thing anyway.

In summer/fall months, we wear sandals (like Tevas), carry a mini umbrella, and buy ponchos if needed..

I bring rain coats as I don't like the way ponchos feel, nor do they really keep us from getting soaked. I have a Helly Hansen W Loke jacket and my daughter has one from North Face. Both aren't lined and have side vents so we're able to stay (somewhat) cool.
