what quick service meals are MUST EATS?

Although DHS has very few options, we ate at Catalina Eddie's last summer & really liked it. It is one of the windows there by Rosie's All-American. They serve pizzas & hot Italian sandwiches. Our two younger DDs got cheese pizzas, which they liked. DD16, DH & I all got the hot Italian sandwiches. They were really good. I think they came with potato chips. They're the same ones served at Pizzafari in AK, if you've tried those.

Flame Tree bbcue is also my favorite CS. I go for their wood smoked ribs. They are doing a refurb. right now. They'll reopen Sept. 20th.

No say it isn't true! We will be there Sept. 15th. I love Flame Tree - one of my favorite CS meals. Bummer!:sad1:

Tangerine Cafe and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, and Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD.

I like the flame tree bbcue in AK, the smoked 1/2 chicken is good - but I really like sitting in the covered pavilion down by the water. It's protected from sun/rain and not as crowded as the seating area closer to the counter service area.

There are also beautiful views from down there, and we have even seen boats with characters and music on that lake in the past. Not sure if this is still happening, but that is basically our favorite CS in the World.

Great thread! I have got to agree with the posters on...
Flametree BBQ at AK
Sunshine Seasons- Epcot
Pizza Planet (not for the food)- HS
Columbia Harbour -MK
Earl of Sandwich, Cookes of Dublin- DTD (but due to all the praise, we are trying Wolfgang's Express this trip since we are on Free QSDDP for the first time and will get to try a few new QS places.

Staying tuned for new suggestions.

103 days until Just the Girls Christmas Magic meprincess:DD20princess:DD19princess:

We ate at quite a few places.

Epcot: We ate at sunshine seasons at the noon hour. It was a mad house but we all found something to eat and all had yummy desserts.

We also got a quick service meal at Norway. They offer three types of sandwhichs that come with either salad or a fruit bowl. You then get to pick your dessert from all the yummy offerred and a beverage. We liked this option because we didn't have to use a snack credit to eat their desserts. You can get that huge almond pretzal as the dessert also. I had my almond pretzal wrapped up to go also and ate it later that day.

Coronado Springs: We stopped here to use up the last of all our counter service meals. I used three of the meals for the ham and cheese croissant sandwhich meals. The sandwhich were very yummy. We wrapped them up and ate them the next day as we were driving home. The potato chips were kettle chips and very yummy. We got some really yummy desserts from there also. It is a crazy place also and sometimes it can be very very slow getting your food.

HOllywood Studios: We got a couple of meals at Backlot Express because it was close to the Indiana Jones show. We got our food and then ate it in the theater while waiting on the show to start. It was just your average counter service food. I had original wanted to get a counter service meal at starring rolls (sandwhich, dessert from the counter, and drink) but things never worked out for us to do that.

MK: We ate at Cosmic Rays. They have the huge toppings bar which was yummy. Love the sauteed mushrooms. My boy and I shared the rotiserie chicken meal. My husband had the cheese burger. A lot of food and all pretty good.

Animal Kingdom: We didn't eat anything there. We left around noon. We left and went to target because I needed to pick up a few things we we had a few lunchables to tide us over until our early supper table service reservations. this was why we had a few extra counter service meals at the end of the week.

Pop century: We ate a couple of meals there. I had the nachos both times. The second time I asked for a lid. I then dumped everything into the lid which sort of mixed it all up into a taco type salad. In my opinion, it made the nachos a ton better. mmm

at MK Columbia Harbor House:goodvibes
at AK Flame Tree Barbeque:goodvibes
at Epcot Sunshine Seasons:goodvibes
at HS.....good luck. I am so so on CS meals there.
:confused3

I'll second the Pepper Market, basically a sit down meal for a CS price, along with the Combo meals at Cosmic Rays and a couple of similar options, it's likely the best value both in food options and $$$. The one thing I haven't seen (might have missed it scanning through) is the fact that many of the resort QS options have specialty nights. I know PO has a carving station one night, I think it's Tuesday.

we when in 2005 for the first time and we had the turkey legs and are looking forward to going in october this year to get are turkey legs, thay are so big and one of are fav things about are holiday last time you will love them :)

Just back Thurs. from 9 fabulous days in the World. :goodvibes
Here is where we ate and what we thought for QS.

MK: Columbia Harbour House - DH and I love the fried shrimp plate. We had it twice this trip. Really big portion of super sweet fried shrimp, coleslaw, and fries. The warm apple pie tart thing is heavenly. BEST CS dessert of the stay.
We did make the mistake of eating at Peco's Bills once and it was nasty. The burger was dry, the bun was dry and fell apart, the carrot cake dessert was icky.

Epcot: We are normally huge fans of the CS places here (We love Sunshine Seasons and Tangerine Cafe). But we had scheduled quite a few TS so we only ate at Sunshine Seasons for breakfast one morning.

DHS: We, like most, have never found anyplace that is great. This past week we tried Backlot Express for the first time. It won really by default. We don't like Pizza Planet , will never eat at ABC Commisary again, and the other places had no AC. I had the Bacon Double Cheeseburger, kids had the nuggets and DH had the Southwest Salad with Chicken. It was all good. Not great, not terrible.

AK: : We were soooo sad to see Flame Tree closed during our stay. So we went to Pizzafari and had a fabulous meal. DS7 had pizza, DD8 had the breadsticks, DH had the Italian Sandwich (which he LOVED) and I had the best Antipasto Salad. I would go out of my way to eat this again..It was that good!

DTD: We ate there twice. We went to Earl Of Sandwich (which we normally love) and didn't really like it.:confused3 Not sure if we just weren't in the mood. It was packed so we sat outside (and it was flipping HOT)..I had the Italian and it didn't have a lot of flavor, DS7 had the Hawaiian BBQ and it was ok, DH had the The Original 1762 and liked it. DD8 wasn't hungry so she had some fruit and a smoothie that she declared disgusting after 2 sips. (I tried it and it was kind of nasty).

Our BEST CS of the week goes to WPE in DTD. The fact that this is a CS place is amazing. The food and service there were better than some of the TS places we ate at! DH had the Tortilla Soup and Roasted Veggie Pizza and LOVED it. I had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and it was excellent. DS7 had the pizza and loved it. DD8 had the chicken fingers and she said they were the best she had all week ( and believe me she had quite a few;))

HTH:goodvibes

posting again.

:surfweb:

I wish Disney would get the hints we are dropping about the food choices and quality at DHS>

Improvement never hurt anybody or anything .

My favorite park CS is the Yorkshire County Fish place in Epcot. :cloud9: But my fave CS period is either/both the Chicken Penne Alfredo and the Parmesan Crusted Chicken meals at Pop. Holy COW they are yummy!! And the chicken is HUGE. I've never seen my teenage son not finish something, but even he had some left, lol. Oh man, I can't wait to have that again.

Wolfgang Puck Express
-Spaghetti and meatballs - Pizza was not good IMO

Sunshine Seasons
-Roasted Beet & Goat Cheese Salad
-Seared Tuna Salad
-Smoked Ham & Salami Grinder

Tangarine cafe
-Chicken & Lamb Shawarma Platter

Starring Rolls
-Black Forest Ham Sandwich

Kringla Bakeri og Cafe
-Kringla Daily Chef's Selection

I might be alone here, but I don't hate Pizza Planet at DHS. Come to think of it, we have enjoyed the ABC Commissary also, a couple of times.

My favorite in MK is Cosmic Ray's - just as much for the atomosphere as the food.

AK - definitely Flametree. It is some good and interesting BBQ.

Epcot - tough to choose - but Sunshine Seasons has some very fresh stuff and great variety, so I will go with that one.

thanks for all the posts! nice to know all of this information before going :)

Another vote for Flametree Grill...the best and most for the money
Columbia Harbour House at MK..something different..shrimp is YUMMY
Sunshine Seasons at Epcot..big selection
Not many to choose from at DS but Backlot Express beats out Pizza
