What purse/bag do you bring into the park?

This is always a dilemma for me. My kids are 9 and 6, so I don't need diapers and such, but I do like to be able to carry a waterbottle, my money, hand lotion, my phone, camera, lip balm, compact, sunscreen and a few other odds and ends without everything being crammed in and hard to get out. But I want it small enough that I sling it across my body when I'm on rides.

I just bought this: http://www.zappos.com/fossil-tyler-crossbody-black I'm hoping it works, cuz the bag I brought last time was too small.

Any particularly wonderful bags/purses that you use in the park?

hahaha, this is cute, girls are so funny, even more funny is my mom is the same way and she always ends up wearing a fanny pack, i have so many pics of her in that thing, it is hilarious.

I recently bought a black leather Fossil crossbody purse similar to the one you bought but I got mine a Macys. I used it while traveling and it worked out really well. I am planning on using it when we go to Disney.

On our last day trip, when I was going with just myself and my two DDs, I brought a fully loaded backpack (the type you would use for a day hike or school). And I mean fully loaded! It had those little plastic apples of Marinelli's apple cider, individual Silk Chocoloate Soy milk cartons, half-sandwiches, Lara bars, bags of pretzels, and bags of Snackimal cookies. I was determined to avoid spending tons of $ on snacks/food for a one day trip. And I know my girls, I knew they would ask for a snack each time they saw a churro cart.:lmao:

That part of the backpack wasn't so bad, because as the day wore on, the load got lighter (though we didn't go through nearly as much of the stuff as I thought we would). I also had in the backpack jackets for when it got colder, my girls' pin lanyards (because they only wear them when they see a CM with pins and then they hand them back to me 10 minutes later), extra socks in case we got wet, our autograph book, and coloring stuff for downtime. And, obviously, it had my stuff like phone/ID/money well tucked away inside an interior pocket.

I was completeley prepared to carry it around all day and I did for the first hour or so that we were there. Despite a fairly loaded pack, it was really easy to load on a ride, even on the Fantasyland rides with all three of us riding together. And it was pretty comfortable. The reason I didn't carry it around the rest of the day is because DH showed up unexpectedly to surprise us! :cloud9: He took it over, because that's just what he does. But, he didn't seem to mind it, either. Much easier than lugging around a stroller and trying to park it all day (not that is something the OP would do, but just FYI for others with younger children...my youngest was 3 in February and did just fine walking all day).

When I always go to any Disney resort parks, I used two different types of bags. I use a blue backpack that I have bought when I was in WDW last March/April and it is used for the morning and afternoon times in the park. Than I have a big Swiss laptop backpack that I like to use during the night time so I can carry all my camera and video equipment.

I like to use the WDW bag to carry small stuff like drinks, snacks, my camcorder and my camera during the days when I am in the parks. This is a decent bag to use when I go on any rides.

I like to use my Swiss bag for the nighttime shows during the night. I use it to carry my blanket so I can use it to sit on the curb for the fireworks, on the walkway for F!, and use it during a cold night. I also use it to carry my tripod and monopod so it can be easy to transport instead of carrying it. If I am with my other family or friends that has young kids, I put their stuff in my bag or they have their own bags for their stuff. The only bad about using this bag is the size and it is not good to bring when you are on a ride like SM, Soarin, Indy etc.

It does make a big difference to have a backpack, purse, fanny pack, etc. so you can carry all the different stuff with you and just like what the pp said about bringing a stroller.

DH has always carried a backpack for us with water bottles, plastic baggies, snacks, and my sweater. The water bottles are the main issue. In winter we don't really need them, but in the summer they sure are nice. And they are just so heavy. I don't know a good way to carry them and pack light. :confused3 For myself, I use a Baggalini large wallet bag. It fits a small camera, my phone, credit cards and AP. I can wear it across my shoulder or adjust it to go around my hips which is nice for when my shoulders get sore.

I plan on bringing my regular handbag, which is on the bigger side. I may look into getting some kind of tote bag for our trip this fall. I haven't thought about it much yet, but probably should.

If I bring anything it's usually one of those very small backpacks that have the strings for the straps. I usually bring in with us my camera (very small), my wallet, some sunscreen and chapstick.

On our trip my husband wore a Jansport backpack--just a basic one like children would carry to school. The children had sippy cups full of water and those went in the basket under the stroller, but everything else went in the backpack.

I always take a backpack. For the same reasons many of the PP have said. We take in snacks, our reusable water bottles, and autograph books, and etc. I can't imagine taking anything else. My hubby complains, until he is thirsty and doesn't have to buy a drink, or we have snacks, so we can spend our money elsewhere. Good luck to you!

DBF usually brings his backpack, especially during the summer when we need tons of water bottles. We also put our jackets in there for the cool mornings/nights. If I bring a bag, it's usually a small purse or wristlet (something small so I can just stick it in DBF's backpack when I don't want to carry it :rotfl:). I brought a smallish messenger bag during our Christmas trip so DBF wouldn't have to carry his backpack around. That worked out only because it was cold and we had jackets on the whole day and didn't need as many water bottles. I like to bring bags that don't slip off easily (i.e. a handbag) as I like to have my hands free for taking pictures, reading maps/schedules, and eating snacks while keeping one hand free to hold DBF's :cutie:

I will be carrying a Coach crossbody bag and I just ordered this Baggallini online for my mother in law (in black):

I have the same Baggallini pictured above but in brown, I really like it although sometimes it hurts my shoulder after awhile if I have too much heavy stuff in it!

Hi my name is Tina and I am a bag-a-holic! LOL At least that's what hubby calls me.

For years and years I would buy a new bag/backpack for each trip and never be satisfied with it!

For my last trip in May, I bought this bag and I think I have finally found THE ONE! It's by baggalini and I love it!

I also use a Bagallini, but I use the City bag--here is the link:

I carried this bag thru China for 9 days and have used it for my last two Disney trips. The selling point for me was the fact that the two pockets on the outside can hold my Flip video and my point and shoot camera and I have very quick access to them with no fumbling. It is lightweight and does not put a strain on my shoulders, as my Healthy Back Bag does.

I've got the same Baggalinni that was shown on page 1 of this thread. I've been using it for 2 months, and find it very interesting that since I've been using it that my ongoing back pain has been reduced by around 90%, since using it on a regular basis. I've packed it fairly heavy at times, and find that it is balanced, and doesn't put any strain on my back. I've got a backpack, and intend to use it as my carryon because it's so light, and won't put strain on my back while in transit so to speak, but will be using the Baggalinni once I'm in the parks.

I like the Baggallini's. I think I'm going to go with the Get out of town bag, style, since it has two pockets on the outside. I want easy (but secure) access to my camera and phone. I actually have a nice canvas crossover bag, but it's a little small and my son has taken it over as his. I still want to find a nice fanny pack for the kids to carry around snacks and a small camera. I can't imagine carrying around 5 bottles of water all day, however, and I'm not sure how it would work for the kids to carry their own. Plan B would be that I carry 3 water bottles - one for hubby and I to share, one for the girls to share, and one for my son. It's not that we aren't willing to stop and buy a snack or a drink - I just want to have easy access in case we're in line and someone needs a small snack or drink of water.
