What purse/bag do you bring into the park?

I like this bag. It is called the Donner by Overland.

One of my favorite features is that it has a place on each side (the ends) to slide in a water bottle. Those slots hold really large water bottles too. Like I have inserted the large refillable cups that they sell at our local Wild Waves store.

I also have the bagalini that the PP mentioned, but it won't stay in the right place to be comfortable (I know some folks have sewn the strap) and I end up wearing it backwards so that I can get to my stuff easily.

This one does get heavy though, especially if I load my camera in it.

I have gone the regular backpack plenty of times and that is really handy. This trip I may go that route, as we will need water to keep hydrated. But if I do, I will probably try to go without a purse, as it is harder to keep track of all that. Maybe a fannypack....

I got this bag for our trip in May and thought it was great. The 2 side pouches were great for water bottles and the bag was spacious enough for snacks, camera, flip, and other misc. things. My kids are 9 & 12 and prior to this trip dh would still take a backpack into the parks. This time, there was no need since everything pretty much fit into the Donner purse. It was suppose to be used just for traveling -aka- disney but I find that I really like and have been using it as my casual purse this summer.

One of the problems is that I personally can't deal with a backpack. I get really irritated every time I need to take it on and off to grab some water or some cash or whatever. I love for dh to wear one, but in the summer he gets pretty hot with a backpack on his back.

I think I'll give my Zappos one a try, although a lot of the ones mentioned here look intriguing as well . . .

I want this one!

Barefootmomma started a thread for the new purse on the Community Board: Disneyland gets their very own Dooney and Bourke!

I use this baggallini:

It's not very big, but I make my kids carry their own stuff... so I don't need very big. ;)

I like it because you can unzip the straps and wear it backpack style, or you can zip them together and wear it sling style. And when the straps are zipped together, they can be moved from side to side, so you can switch shoulders. :thumbsup2

I hate having to wear something on my shoulder(s) because it aches by the end of the day. I go the nerdy route with a fanny pack. It fits everything I need (camera, kleneex, baggie of meds, chapstick, phone, etc.) I can leave it on for all rides and everything I need to so easily accessible.

Anything that won't fit in my fanny pack, or anything I may only need once or twice a day (like sunscreen or a sweatshirt) I put into a small bag and put into a locker. Much easier and less annoying than hauling things all over the park.

The only thing I'll wear over my shoulder is a strap that holds my water bottle. My husband shares carrying duties with that so it's not bad.

You have a point, Cats mom. I think I need to figure out what I'm actually going to haul around all day, and how much the kids are going to carry themselves, before I order a bag. If not for the water I think I could manage with a fanny pack.

Have you considered using a strap/lanyard for your water bottle? That's what I do. I got mine at Disneyworld a few years ago. But I know that there are TONS of different types out there. If you google water bottle strap or water bottle lanyard I'm sure you'll come up with a lot of results.

I find it's much easier than putting a bottle in a bag or anything like that. Plus, as I drink the water, it gets lighter! :) (Until I get a new bottle.)

Each of us carries a small backpack. That way we can share the load of water bottles, soda and snacks. DH usually carries the cameras in his too.

Call me crazy for using it since it costs a little green each day but I really utilize the lockers they have to offer. Especially since I usually end up buying something every day that I don't want to cart with me for hours on end :lmao: Generally I only walk around with my camera bag when I'm there. Other than my camera if fits a couple of essentials like my park hopper, phone, money, extra memory cards. Things like extra sunblock, sweater or something for the evenings and what I don't need with me every step of the way I usually leave in the locker along with my tripod which I'll pull out in the evenings. I know I'll be walking past it multiple times daily so it really all works out!

for anyone that uses that bagalinni does it dig into your neck at all? Anytime I get a cross body the strap hits my neck and just hurts so bad I have had no luck with any.

Does anyone know if they let you bring in a CamelBak with the bladder full of water or will I have to fill it in the park? I don't know if maybe they will be suspicious that it could be alcohol and not water. :confused3

My sister and her boyfriend always bring this type of bag and have never had anytrouble getting in with them.

DS always brings one into the park since he has issues with heat. It was a lifesaver at WDW in August. We always fill it up with ice and water at the hotel, that way he has cold water for most of the day. Bag check has never had issues with it at DL.

I love my baggalini (sling style backpack) for Disney and local daytrips. It has loads of little compartments perfect for medication, chapstick, bandaids, post-its and all of the other things that I don't want falling into a heap at the bottom of my bag. It's lightweight when empty and I love that it has a water bottle holder on the side. You can really pack a lot into that little bag. My only complaint is that the adjustable strap doesn't really stay in place, but I've recently remedied that with a large safety pin to hold it in place, that way I always have a safety pin on me if I need one, and I have needed one. It doesn't dig into my neck at all like other cross body or sling packs have. My DH says it looks a bit sloppy, but I'm not front row at Fashion Week so I don't care. I love it and would recommend it for sure. I paid WAY too much for mine, but I know there are lots of deals to be had online. I bought in a gift shop on a ferry boat. Can you say sucker?

Oh, and one more addition to my PP, now that I have an iphone, it doesn't fit easily into the cell phone pocket on the strap. It used to be very handy for my previous smaller cell, though.

Yes, mine does dig into my neck a bit.

I don't have any problem with my Baggalinni digging into my neck. Last trip I even had it so full of tshirts and things I'd bought lol, but no problem.
