What Poly buildings face the castle with a patio?

Hi again, I have a garden view reserved at the Poly. I'm still wondering if I should reserve a lagoon view or castle view. However I'm a little confused about what I was told by the CM while making my reservation. The CM said, I can reserve a lagoon view without knowing if I can see the castle. My point in reserving the lagoon view would be to have a view of the castle. Is there a way I can know for sure if I have a castle view? Anyone remember their room number that had a castle view with a patio?

I'd like to surprise my little one but, I don't want to pay extra if I can't see the castle from my room.

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me! :)

There is no way you can get a guaranteed castle view. You could get a partially blocked view, a view of the GF, or a clear unobstructed view of the castle.

All you can do is make the request for an unobstructed view of the castle and when you check in, if it's available, odds are the CMs will give it to you.

But again, there are no guarantees. If you book that lagoon view room, you'd have to take your chances.

The buildings that I believe have the BEST veiws of the castle at the Poly are Hawaii(concierge building) and Tahiti. The only thing I'd be afraid with Tahiti, is since you want a patio, there is a hill which could partially block the view, you might be better off asking for a balcony and being on a higher floor, less chance for obstructions in my opinion. As stated by the previous postser, there is no guarantee of a view of the castle, it's just a request.

Hi thank you for the information. Can I get a castle view if I go concierge and do all floors have patios in the concierge building?

Thanks again! :)

If you book LV concierge, almost all of the rooms have a view of the castle. Some are slightly obstructed by palm trees, but the castle is there!! There are patios on the 1st floor and balconies on the 3rd floor. There is no outside seating on the 2nd floor. Also, the 3rd floor is smoking optional.

Any room that has a category of Lagoon View has a view of the castle even if it is slightly blocked by a bush or tree. There are LV rooms in Tahiti, Hawaii, 2 in Tokelau, Tuvalu and a few in Aotearoa. Hawaii and Tahiti give you the best views. The hill (sunset point) that Lori refers to is not in between Tahiti and the castle so it should not block your view from a patio in Tahiti. There are some bushes and trees along the beach but lest say you get a ground floor room and your view of the castle is partly blocked by a palm tree. Being on the ground floor you can walk right out to the beach and see all you want. We had a second floor room twice in Tahiti and the view was good in the first but the second time the room was right next to the entrance to Tahiti (which is in the middle of the longhouse) and there were trees growing right next to the entrance that blocked part of the balcony. These rooms are X028-X029 (put in the floor number for the “X”). If you get a lagoon view I would say you have a 95% or better chance that you will have a view of the castle. I have been in all types of lagoon view rooms and some are better than others but even the bad ones are not that bad. I do think the Polynesian has great garden view rooms. Some have partial views of the lagoon and the castle but we always go for the lagoon view. I think it is worth every penny and many people I have talked into a lagoon view room came back and said they were very glad they took my advice.

Just got back from the Poly yesterday. We had a fantastic view from our room, Tahiti 1017. The beach is basically private since the walkway doesn't go by the beach there. THe castle is lit up all night and beautiful.

I wrote the Poly with a room request before I left and this room was everything I asked for. Good luck.

Cathy,

What a great room location. Just a few rooms down from the corner. So you did not have Sunset point block your view did you?

It was a perfect view! Sunset point wasn't in the way at all and neither were the palm trees. I thoroughly researched the resorts, location etc and your website was one of my prime sources. Thanks for putting that together; it was a great help.

We had a fantastic time. It was my 7th trip to WDW, though the first to a deluxe, and my boyfriend's first trip. He had been convinced that WDW was just for kids and this trip changed his mind. By the time we left, he was talking about coming back.

The Poly certainly added to the experience and the magic.

Did you get any pictures of the view from your room?

Steve

Several and I'd be happy to share. I don't have a website to post them on but I could e-mail as soon as I have time (I'm at work trying to catch up, even though I'd rather not).
