Anybody have any idea what percentage of total DVC members are made up of the great posters on this great site???

DVC has about 75k members, how many members does the DIS site have and how many post on the DVC board?

Just curious, anybody wanna take a stab?

Thanks,
Vince

We have tried to quantify our mass, we had a thread for unique posters, I think it got up to700-800. I figure we have a couple hundred regular posters, a couple hundred more that post shortly before or after their trip and a couple, few hundred that posted once or twice.

Richy's figures sound about right. Numbers ebb and flo but I think we're still a very small blip among the total membership.

I know it has been posted before that DVC counts all contracts in a household as just one membership, but I don't buy it. I do not believe for a minute that their computer system is that accurate. As an example, we have two contracts and we recieve mailings for both contracts every single time. If their system was that precise, why wouldn't they send out just one mailing and save the money? It is because they view us as two memebers, not one. Obviously, this is just my opinion, but if I am right, there are not 75,000 individual members out there. JMO, which many don't agree with!

Ok, I'm nosey - are they two different UY? I wonder if it is 75,000 master members and the different UY throws them off for real counts

Sandy,
My two contracts are different use years. However, my girlfriend has three contracts (not add-on's) and they all have the same use year. She gets three mailings on everything.

We also have 2 contracts and used to get 2 mailings, up until about September of last year, then we got a note saying that they have a computer now that can track us as one household w/ 2 contracts and we are no longer recieving multiple mailings. Which is o.k., but it was always fun to recieve multiple magnets, license plate holders, etc...I guess I'm glad their trying to save my money!;)

On the other hand, there are families and friends who "share" contracts, and that probably isn't counted accurately in the total either - especially if they haven't bothered to register all "members" with different addresses to all get the mailings.

Whether shared contracts where they count one family and have two (or more) and multiple contracts where they could two or three and have one balance each other out is anyone's guess.

We have 2 separate contracts we bought resale. They have the same UY but different home resorts. We bought them about a few months apart a few years ago.

Disney was able to "recognize" both contracts under our one membership number from the beginning. Can't remember if the contract numbers are totally separate or if they treated the second contract as an "add-on." We only get one mailing of anything.

Do those that get multiple mailings have multiple membership #'s?

Sometimes the names and addresses on the different contracts are not exactly the same and so the computers won't pick it up?

Bottom line: who knows? :scratchin
