I would have 'fit' in the 1940's. I loved the music, the styles, the morals and the mood...the country came together at that time and worked for one common goal.

If I could I would like to stay in the early 80's, the economy was recovering, it was before HIV & MRSA etc, there was no war and society was relatively tolerant. i wish I could transport my kids there too.
Me too. The war part wouldn't be so great, but I love the music and women's fashions were so classic and attractive---even on women that weigh more than 98 lbs!
Yep, vaccines, antibiotics, and refrigeration rule out most time periods for me. Also, I'm RH- and had to have c-sections with my boys. I wouldn't have survived childbirth if I went back very far.
When I was a kid, I was totally into "Gone with the Wind." I read the book when I was middle school, but the idea of wearing all those pretty dresses stuck with me. In high school I was asked this question in the interview portion of the school's Junior Miss pageant, and I said I would like to live in the South before the Civil War. I shudder when I think about my answer today, especially since my area was then in the news for having some radical racists.
