I am planning our trip for Springbreak 2005 (obsessive planner here). We will be arriving on a Saturday in Orlando about 11:30 with Tiffany Towncar to pick us up and maybe a quick stop at the grocery store. I know I probably can't get my room yet but figured we would get there around 1:00 or so that afternoon. What park would be the best to do that day? It will just be me and DS who will be 14 then. He loves MGM but I could go to any park.

Well for spring break, MK will probably be opne til 11pm, so that would be a good place to get a late start. But do remember that MK is busiest on Saturdays.

Some places like the water parks have cheaper tix for after 3 or 4pm entry. Why not look into those and save yourself a day is you have hopper passes.

Disney Quest could be a idea that day, too.

MGM is an EMH park on Sat. We went to the AK that day even though it isn't our favorite (Sat. was our arrival day too). You could do MK, although I believe it will be crowded. You might go to Epcot instead because it usually isn't crowded on Sat. and there is MS and TT there for your 14 yr. old. If you have UPH's or PAP's you could go to DQ at DTD and stay there for a while if the parks are really crowded. That is my 11 yr. old son's favorite place to go now. :earsgirl:

We did Animal Kingdom on our first afternoon of arrival last trip. The crowds tend to thin in the afternoon at Animal Kingdom and although it closed at 5pm we got quite a bit done.

We've always arrived by at our Resort by noon or 1pm and our room has always been ready so factor that in your timing.

We're thinking about TL in the afternoon for our next trip.

I don't do a park on arrival day b/c I don't want to waste a park hopper pass day, but that's just me. If you have unlimited park hoppers, then I say Magic Kingdom!

We always do MGM on the first day.....for the main reason...it is fun, exciting and entertaining....it doesnt hold the PUNCH that MK does and require the longevity that EPCOT does and well...unless you are at AK early..I find I have low tolerance....MGM is just right!

Wow after typing this, I feel like Goldilocks...."this porridge is too cold, this porridge is to hot, but THIS porridge is JUST RIGHT!"

We always skip the parks on the first day, because it's usually a Saturday, and we don't have enouch time to invest that would justify using a day from our passes. We usually hit Downtown Disney, or ride the buses around to different Disney hotels just to look around. Also if you have a plus option, you could always go to a water park on your first day. Just a few suggestions!:earsboy: :earsboy:
