what papers do I need to check in?

That would be fine - and even without you can just let them know you are checking in and show a photo ID and that will let you in.

Photo ID is all you need. And unlike almost every other hotel in the country, you do NOT need a credit card (or cash deposit).

A smile is optional, but usually involuntary.

Since the Cast Members at the security gate have a list of guests who are checking in that day, all they will ask is for photo ID and nothing more.

Yep - and be aware that the list will show the name on the res so get the right ID out ahead of time! :cutie: For instance, the last time we checked in my DH was driving, and he had his ID out of his wallet ready to show the guard. But I had made the res and had used my name, and so the guard asked for my license (which matched the res/list that he had) and I had to fumble around trying to grab my purse from the back seat and it was under the suitcase, so we were holding up the line, and my DH uh, well let's just say was muttering little somethings under his breath...

Hehe I always have to fuss at my hubby to get his ID out before we get to Airline Security. I tell him if he has it out he won't hold up the line. He mutters under his breath but I think its something like "woman hush up!" :)

Like others have said just have your ID. That will do. If you do have a confirmation with your reservation number and stay info bring it along just in case there any discrepancies.

Have a great trip!

:rotfl: Men. Gotta luv em. ;)

Make sure you DO NOT throw away your confirmation with your price on it until after you review your bill on departure. We were at the OKW earlier this month and had a discount 40% off code so the room was $189 a night. We had the room paid in full since Dec. When we checked in I asked the CM what the rate was and she said $189 a night. I pitched my confirmation since we checked in. 5 days later when we checked out the bill was for $370 a night and they charged my credit card the difference! When I called the front desk the CM was such a nasty woman and said they had no proof that I paid the $189 and no proof that I was offered a discount...I hit the roof, they told me to call guest services and they were not helpful either. I asked to speak with the manager and he was wonderful...he explained that sometimes the code "falls off" the reservation once you are checked in and he did refund my credit card the difference.

Thanks everyone! Now, the only thing I'm worried about is I put the reservation under 'Becky' but all my ID says 'Rebecca'.... they're not that picky, right?

I got a funny story about that. A few years ago WDW accidentally had me listed as the primary guest who made the reservation, when it was my Dad who did that so it was just an honest mistake. However when we arrived at the Contemporary they never asked to see my ID even though it was my name listed at the top of our confirmation.

So Disney does NOT require a credit card?
I'm planning my honeymoon for January and neither my fiance nor I have a credit card (I have one, but it has a $1000 credit limit and an interest rate of 126%)

Or is this simply that the credit card you put the reservation on is used? We're planning on registering for our honeymoon, so I was hoping I wouldn't have to acquire a credit card between now and then, but maybe I'm just confused.

WDW resorts do not require a credit card, PERIOD. Anyone who tells you you NEED a credit card for a WDW resort is just plain wrong.

You can pay for your reservation in advance by check, if you want. And when you check-in at the resort, they require NO credit card imprint or cash deposit as security for incidentals or phone calls or anything like that.

You can even set up a room charge with cash or travelers checks or Disney Dollars rather than a credit card or debit card. Disney is definitely a "no plastic required" destination. [If you do choose to use plastic to set up a room charge, the resort doesn't check your balance and they do not pre-charge the account or place a hold on the account.]

There may be one exception to this, but I don't know for sure. If you want to make reservations for certain dining experiences, they must be paid for in advance, and I've always done this with my debit card ... I'm not sure if they have any "non-plastic" provisions for those few meals that require pre-payment at the time of making the reservation.

Thanks... I thought I had read something about that somewhere.

That makes my life a lot easier, because I've gone to hotels and rental car places with my mom before and they required her to have a credit card that was not a debit card. One time we were going to visit my grandfather in Philadelphia and arrived really late at night. She had already paid for the rental car in advance, but they wanted a credit card for incidentals. She tried to explain to them that her debit card was attached to the equity line for our house, but they didn't care. We finally ended up having to take a taxi to my Grandpa's, because we didn't want to call and wake him up.
I understand that they wanted us to be liable if something happened to the car. Untrustworthy people make life so much more difficult.

It's awesome that Disney doesn't require one.
