What other amusement/theme parks to you like

You need to watch Giant Eagle for discount tickets early in the season for around $19, but don't wait too long... I made that mistake one year. You can also ask a neighbor to buy you tickets from their school when they are having their school picnic for $18...they only do this for a few days and it's cash only.

Love Kennywood - it's real Pittsburgh tradition. I don't think I've ever missed a year. Oh how I wish they had fastpass!

We only go to Idlewild every couple of years, but I think the kids might be getting too old.

We're going to Busch Gardens - Williamsburg this summer. Can't wait.

Yeah, I buy lots of GE ones every year. They aren't good on the weekends in July and August. I guess the weekends are too crowded anyway. My son turned 3 so now I have to pay for him too. Ugh.

I have to say I posted here the other day and I had trouble going to bed last night. I was dreaming about the Potato Patch. I can't get it out of my head.

I like a lot of different parks for different things.

Cedar Point can't be beat for thrill rides. Millenium, Top Thrill Dragster, and even the classic Magnum XL

We had a great time at Hershey Park. Great kids areas, beautiful landscaping and some fun rides. Having chocolate everywhere helps too :-)

USF we love when we go there instead of Disney (for a Disney break)

I plan to hit Holiday world this summer (hopefully) I hear is a wonderful park.

Why spend money on inferior theme parks? Save those dollars for a future trip to the World!

Non-Orlando theme park... I really liked Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg, VA. Very well kept and great shows.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a VERY well kept, beautiful park. The shows are top notch, and the rides are fantastic! :thumbsup2

There are actually those who believe it is a cleaner, and more well maintained park than Disney itself! Yes, it's quite a beautiful park and area!

My favorite theme park outside of Disney would be Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. I love it because they have some of the best roller coasters:scared1: I have ever been on (X, Tatsu, Goliath, Viper).

Another vote for Busch Gardens, its clean, beautiful, and Water Country has a great Lazy river :)

I also have to pick Busch Gardens Williamsburg as my favorite non-Disney theme park. I went to graduate school in Williamsburg in the late 90's and used to hop over to BG occasionally for a study break--roller coasters and free beer, what more could a poor grad student ask for.

I would go so far as to say that BG is more naturally beautiful than any of the Disney parks. It's located on a beautiful piece of property and the landscaping is very well done. The theming and attractions are a step below Disney, but are still a big step above the Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks. I've always thought of Busch Gardens--and really all the Busch parks for that matter--as a bridge between Disney and more traditional amusement parks.

We have season passes to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. We love the rides and our daughter has a terrific time there as well. When we lived in CT, we loved going up to Six Flags New England and sometimes to the one in New Jersey. I've also been to Kennywood, Lake Compounce, and Lake Quassy (a really small park in CT).

Hmm... I know this thread is a year old, but I hope it's okay to bump it up since it's still relevant and we're heading into amusement park weather again (at least up here in the northern half of the US)! :goodvibes

I hoping I can get to Kennywood on opening weekend when I head to Pittsburgh for the half marathon May 3rd.

One of my dreams is to go to Kennywood.

I also have an appreciation for amusements parks built long ago at the end of trolley lines.

Clementon Park in New Jersey - A season pass for just $49! I had fun there growing up in South Jersey.

Sometimes the best park is the one that is closest to you.

Right now, for me, the best & closest park is Acadia National Park.

Honestly, I can say, I really don't like amusement parks at all. I love WDW, but I really don't like others. I've been to Six Flags, Hershey Park, Silver Dollar City (Steal Your Dollar City) and a few others. I don't get the same "feeling" that I get at WDW. However, Silver Dollar City is pretty well themed and very cute!

The one place I really like though that makes me feel sort of "Disney-esque" is the Brookfield Zoo here in Chicago. I get that same sort of laid back, relaxed feeling that I do when I'm in WDW. Sort of like you know it's going to be just a really FUN day and it usually is!

Another vote for this park :thumbsup2 The theming is very nice and the park was very clean. And the roller coasters were soooo much fun :woohoo:

Uhm! There is other parks other than WDW?! :confused3

My thoughts exactly.

In all seriousness, I don't have much interest in other theme parks. I would classify myself as a WDW enthusiast, not a theme park enthusiast.

Anyone else out there feel this way?

You posted while I was typing. I like many zoos, aquariums, historic sites and museums. Just not other theme parks.

For those of us in the NE--Hershey Park is a ton of fun. It is a very clean park with lots of fast rides and roller coasters. My kids love it! Also, when they are making chocolate in town, the park smells AMAZING!!

Although it doesn't even begin to come close, Cedar Point in OH is my second favorite :) The rollercoasters are great!~
