What other amusement/theme parks to you like

Love Cedar Point, Love Kings Island in Cincy, OH. The one we really seem to enjoy alot is Holiday World in Santa Clause, IN. This park is credited with being the first "theme park" in the world. I know Walt Disney was credited with being the inventor of theme parks, but Holiday World beat him to it.

Holiday World has various lands themed to different holidays....Halloween, 4th of July, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. They also have a great water park. It's truly a wonderful park. All soft drinks and sun tan lotion are included with the price of admission.

Other than DL and WDW my only other would be SeaWorld. I grew up going to SixFlags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. but that just isn't my thing anymore. I'm a Disney gal through n' through.

Cedar Point!!!! BEST cosaters in the world (IMO)!! I grew up 20 minutes from CP and would spend most of my summers there. I also like King's Island and Universal Orlando too!

That's great to hear! We are planning to go to Williamsburg for vacation this summer, and I'm really looking forward to Busch Gardens.

We love Holiday World/Splashin Safari in Southern Indiana. Very clean, free soft drinks(!), free sunscreen. Great coasters and huge water slides.

Like Annette, we're also passholders (just gold, not platinum) to BG in Williamsburg, whose sister park there is Water Country USA---I recommned your getting passes for both parks there since you love Splashin'!!

I totally agree about Kings Island and HOliday World. HW is great. It's not too big but still has great rides. The water park is wonderful. And the free drinks don't hurt.

Another vote for Kennywood. It is great when you have a 1 year old that wants to ride thrill type rides. I love their kid sized Whip. I only wish they had season passes. At $32 per adult it cost almost as much as when I go to DW.

I also love Cedar Point. I went on Top Thrill Dragster last year, what a rush.

I live in the Cleveland area and grew up in the Ann Arbor area, so Cedar Point has been a summertime tradition for me for years and years. I usually go 3 times a year (if not more). I don't, however, compare it to Disney in any way shape or form. There's teenagers spitting on the ground, big beer bellies hanging out of shirts, drunkin 20-somethings and it's filthy. Nothing like Disney parks!! But they do have the fastest, tallest, largest rides in the world! Millenium Force is my favorite ride and we always wait for the first seat *arms up*!!!

We're planning on visiting Williamsburg and Busch Gardens too, this summer.
I'm really looking forward to it as I've heard it's a very pretty park.
I also love Holiday World. We were there a couple of years ago and were very impressed with their operation and cleanliness. Having free soft drinks, parking and suntan lotion was a bonus, too.
One of the things I found amazing on our visit was when we pulled into the parking lot, the owner, Pat Koch, was out there directing traffic and telling us where to park. That would be like seeing Walt pointing a stationwagon toward the Goofy parking section at Disneyland!
Another park our family enjoys is Silver Dollar City near Branson, Missouri. Unlike Knott's Berry Farm which has lost much of its old-West atmosphere, SDC retains the feel of the Ozarks of late 19th century Missouri while updating things enough to appeal to all types of visitors.
It's a must-do at least once a year for us.

My favourite other than WDW would have to be Disneyland Paris. A mini, but better looking MK.


My non-disney park would be Alton Towers in Staffordshire, UK. It's got a good mix of both kids and adults rides and such a variety of different rollercoasters . This includes the worlds first vertical drop rollercoaster (its scary) and a great flying coaster.

I am sorry to correct you but Oblivion is NOT scary! Maybe its because i got held at the top for a good 20 minuites when the ride broke down that lost me the thrill, but Rita and Air beat it hands down.

I like Alton Towers, much better than Thorpe Park (which is just too extreme for me now, i can't handle too many spinning rides, and cause that park is so small, its all it can handle!) and i havent been to Chessington since i was ten. I haven't tried Drayton Manor, but its on my list!

Yay! Another Herts girl listens to the podcast!! Is that weird that i find that exciting??

My favorite theme parks (appart from Disney) are:
- Alton towers, UK - Just for Air, that is one great ride!
- Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Florida- They are great fun, and i once beat my dad at the Men in Black ride, and he has never lived it down!
- Seaworld, Florida- I love beign able to stroke the Dolphins!

I don't go to that many theme parks aside for disney, i never realised this before!

Well, my first love is Disneyland, followed by WDW.

I have not really found other amusement parks that hold a candle to Disney for me. The closest has been Legoland, which our family really enjoyed.

I am also partial to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The Giant Dipper is my favorite wood roller coaster. Not clean and well themed like Disney, but brings back many great childhood memories of when my Nana used to take me there. I waited years to be tall enough to ride the bumper cars!

I only found Oblivion scary because I really really really dislike going straight up or straight down, which is also why I will never ride Stealth.

Drayton Manor is also on my list. I also didn't say that I liked US or IoA, but I do like them. The Hulk is the best and funnest rollercoaster I've ever ridden, even better than Air! And I love Air!

Hmm...I love amusement Parks...Of course I love Disney...but I would say I really like Kennywood and Idlewild (small park in PA) I also went to an really cool small type park in Conn. last summer...Lake Compounce. But I also like Cedar Point and really any park with rollar coasters....I guess I just really like the atmosphere of all amusement parks. They are great for dates (like Delgrosso (in the middle of now where PA), and they all have there own unique qualities.

You need to watch Giant Eagle for discount tickets early in the season for around $19, but don't wait too long... I made that mistake one year. You can also ask a neighbor to buy you tickets from their school when they are having their school picnic for $18...they only do this for a few days and it's cash only.

Love Kennywood - it's real Pittsburgh tradition. I don't think I've ever missed a year. Oh how I wish they had fastpass!

We only go to Idlewild every couple of years, but I think the kids might be getting too old.

We're going to Busch Gardens - Williamsburg this summer. Can't wait.
