When dd#1 outgrows her clothes, we've always saved them for her younger sibling. All of it (except of course, the rare annihilated items which are few and far between for my mellow, careful dd who doesn't enjoy getting dirty). princess:

So why is it that when I open up a bin marked for the size needed by her younger sister, there are always just a couple of things in there? :confused3 Today, I opened up a bin that said "3T" and there are like 2 summer dresses, 3 tops and 2 pairs of shorts, one of which has a hole in the crotch and the other has a mysterious pink stain on the front of one leg!!! :lmao:

What the heck was dd#1 wearing the summer she was 3?? I'm sure she must've had more than 7 items! :scratchin :rolleyes2 And why did I save that stained pair of shorts?? :confused3

Now I have to go buy an entire summer wardrobe for the little one. And we thought we'd save money on clothes, since we had two girls. :rolleyes2

Does this happen to anyone else?

I opened a container of baby clothes from my two--to give some things to my sister or her baby. And though most of it was in good condition--I had that "why the heck was I keeping this" going on quite a bit. Out of ALL those clothes--I keep the generic Gerber onesie or this outfit with the stain that wasn't their when I put it away and now that the fog has lifted I noticed it.

Things that make you go....huh?

:rotfl2: Maybe she wasn't in the size very long. My kids skipped entire sizes and stayed in others for long periods of time. (And of course they have completly different build...one has long legs and a short torso, the other has a long torso and short legs)

I can't help you with where the clothes went except maybe you have some hungry moths :confused3 :rotfl2: . As far as the stains they were probably on the clothes when you put them away and just darkened over time. That can happen really easily.

If your daughter is anything like my oldest son, there was little left that was "cute" during the summer that she was three. I swear last summer I would buy a cute shirt for my son and before he could even get it over his head it would look like it belonged in the rag bag.

That sounds like when my youngest was born, we were very we have to have everything I'm only buying the absolute essentials to bring him home, diapers, wipes come home outfit. there has to be enough of those onesies and undershirts socks etc. Well he comes a bit early so I open those boxes and proceed to pull out the undershirts-do you know how many of those suckers had a little pink bunny or a little heart and flower on them! next come the socks when did all that lace and eyelet get there, are all the sleepers pink or roses, you get the idea. The best was before I could get to the store and buy some non-pink things my neighbor stops over and say's ahh another little girl how nice! It is funny how what you remember and what really is are so different.

Now letting him ride the Minnie Mouse small hot wheels when he was 2 was a conscious decisicion-too cheap to buy a new one for the tiny time they use it.
