I need some ideas. He's a bit of a computer geek. He also likes fishing but not hunting. I can't think if anything except DVDs.

Does he play games on his computer? How about a pc game like Call of Duty - World at War, or Left for Dead? Those games are pretty popular right now. My DH is also a pc geek. I got him a GPS system, but if I didn't get him that, it would have been a gift card to Best Buy or Staples.

Give him a gift card for fishing supplies. My DH would be in heaven. That's what I gave him for his b-day.

A new lure box with new fishing lures. Wal Mart sells one in the toold department that is supposed to be for screws and such but it's just the right size for lures. Maybe a new fishing hat or themed t shirt. A USB drive to store files, movies etc. A gift card to Best Buy so he can pick his own stuff. DH wants a beer hat the next time he goes fishing. With the beer cans on the hat and a straw hanging down. Don't know where to find one though. :confused3

Big Lots (I think) had the ball caps with a light on the brim for $10, if your DH likes to fish early am or later in the evening. HTH!

Dragon Age - Origins
Borderlands

These were the two my DH asked for for Christmas. Got them at Amazon for $40 plus tax but free Super Saver Shipping.

How about an external hard drive? Might be able to find one for around that.

A Bass Pro Shop gift card. That should do it.

Or do like we did and just stop giving gifts to the adults. We'd both rather just watch the kids open their gifts than have to come up with our own for each other.

what about magazine subscriptions for his hobbies? You could get a current issues at a book store and include a card letting him know he will be getting them every month, 2 months, etc

This is the limit DH and I set every year to spend on each other. Last year I bought him a refurbished Ipod Shuffle. The year before I bought him a pair of expensive drum sticks that are nearly (I say nearly for a reason :rotfl:)unbreakable, you just replace the sleeves and tips as needed. Much cheaper than buying a pair or two of wood sticks every week. A little investment in my drummer boy. :lovestruc This year I am giving him a collection of BBQ related items. He decided this summer that he was tied of store bought sauces. So I bought him a small sauce pan for the BBQ, a nice basting brush, a BBQ fork digital thermometer (No more over cooked Pork!:scared1:), and some spices he had been wanting to try. I'll be on the lookout for more as we march toward Christmas. I'm not even close to that $50 yet!:rolleyes1

As you can see I lean towards a split on wants/needs. Maybe something that would have been bought anyway, but hey its Christmas! It was harder this year because he didn't really need anything, he wants plenty but its all well over $50.

My husband asked for those games too. He also asked for some things from a place called jinx and another called thinkgeek (both dot.coms) From the jinx website, he wanted a baseball hat that says "AFK"--cracks me up. Both websites have funny T-shirts and things. Check cafepress for lots of stuff either fishing or computer related.

Does he like to read? How about a magazine subscription or some books?

Thinkgeek.com

My DH drools when he's browsing the website. They've got lots of nifty gadgets. :)

I too want to suggest ThinkGeek.com. My DH is a HUGE Computer geek, and also a D&D geek, so I went to ThinkGeek and had a hard time controlling myslef. I can't wait for Christmas morning for him to see al the nerdy things I got him, he's going to love it!!!

I <3 thinkgeek!

I am so not a geek, so I needed help from DH's best friend and the helpers on the site, but it was great all the finds I got for him. I can't wait till Christmas, he's going to be so impressed with me. ;) I got him a D&D shirt to wear when they play, and these GIANT dice, and this funny WiFi shirt, and all kinds of things. Can't wait!!! I <3 them too and I am not even a geek!!!

I got dh a mug and a custom calender from despair.com.
