actually keep?

In the process of planning our first on site trip with free dining. We have 8 adr's. Either lunch or dinner and 1 day I have both. Will pay oop for 1 if we don't have credits left (have a son that we may pay oop for so it will free up credits).

I have been to WDW before and always had a table service meal within the park we were at on that particular day...no adr.

How hard is it to stick to a schedule and actually make it to 100% of your adr's?

I think last time we cancelled one when we got there (I can't remember which) and cancelled one at the last minute. The funny thing is that the last-minute cancellation was at Les Chefs and when I walked up to let them know, they said that they couldn't find my reservation anyway.

We have always made our ADRs...so 100%. A couple of times we were late, one time we were down 2 people (DH stayed in the room with a sick child) but we have always made it. I work too hard to get them to not do my best to make them work.

We make 100% of ours because we only schedule one ADR each day. That way we aren't rushed to make the reservations. We also booked our off site ADR like Chef Mickey on AK days since we are done by 3pm. So it leaves a couple of hours to go to the resort and swim before dinner at Chef Mickey.
Have fun planning.

For us, 99%. We called Ohana to cancel our Lelo and Stitch breakfast because our DD (4 1/2 at the time) was terrorized by Stitch on the Stitch ride at MK. She never wanted to see him again. :rolleyes1 OOOPS..... so we called and cancelled that one and went to the GF cafe instead.

But to me, if you're going to make an ADR, you're taking that time away from someone else and booking that time slot....so you should show up. Alot of people just make a bunch of ADR's and "show up" to whatever one they want depending on where they are... it's not very fair to everyone else. (I'm sure some will dispute that) If you make a plan, try to stick to it. Clearly things happen, but if they do then just call and cancel so someone else can have the ADR. :thumbsup2

Somehow we always end up cancelling one. No matter how long the trip or how many we've made, there's that one meal that just doesn't work out as planned. We do the deluxe plan and generally don't have a hard time sticking to a park days/ADRs plan, but there's invariably one day where something comes up... someone feeling under the weather, too cold to stay for the fireworks, too long a wait at check-in to stick around for, something.

We only do one a day (sometimes we even skip days) so we get to 100% of ours. The only one I can recall missing is our arrival night when our connecting flight wasn't made and we arrived around midnight.

In the past 3 years... out of 8 + 15 + 19 = 42 reservations, I missed 2, so about 95% of them I make. The two I missed were last minute. In 2009 we had plans to do Boma all the way up until we were leaving AK, then decided we were too tired and cranky, so we just went back to the resort. This year, I took a break from AK before Citrico's, fell asleep and woke up 45 minutes after ADR time :(. I hadn't been feeling all that well either, so I guess it's not a bad thing.

We have always kept 100% but had few. For October trip we have 1-2 per day. Will be traveling with an 18 month old and a 3-1/2 year old and so must remain flexible. If we have to bail I'll be sure to cancel, not just leave them hanging.

CAUTION: Be sure you know which if any of your reservations REQUIRE 48 hours notice to cancel or your credit card will be charged anyway, for instance Akershus Princess character breakfast ADR.

For our trip back in 2006, I made plenty of ADRs ahead of time and we showed up for all, but like one of the previous posters, we did not all show up for all of them. There was just one, that I had to send the rest of the family on and then take myself back to our hotel room because I got sick while on the trip and that day was just too much for me on my worst day. So I took a looooong nap while my fam enjoyed the meal they raved about the most for years following. :rotfl: come to think of it I skipped breakfast the following morning as well and joined them later in the day.

We usually make 2 a day, & always keep them. Occasionally we get hungry sooner than our ADR time, & call to see if they can work us in early. If not, we have a snack & wait for our ADR time.

90-100%. Usually all, but some trips we might cancel one and since we usually make 10-12 per trip, that would be closer to 90%.

I don't find it hard to stick to the schedule we make, but we don't often schedule dinners and we don't schedule things that are inconvenient to where we plan to be for the day or evening.

We make 99.99% of our ADRs, but it takes some planning. I've seen some folks post planned ADRs that involve zig-zagging from one park, to a resort way across the property, to yet another park - all in one day. To me, that's crazy. I try to keep every meal of the day in the immediate vicinity of the park we're visiting. For instance, if we're staying at the Boardwalk Inn and visiting EPCOT one day, our schedule might have breakfast on the Boardwalk, lunch in EPCOT, dinner at Beach Club.

We have made all of our adr's in the past. A couple of times we were missing someone in our party due to someone being sick, but we always had the others go keep them. We always get park hoppers too, so we aren't tied down as much. We just leave and head over to where we are eating.

We normally cancel at least 2. With little ones there are just some evenings that I know better than to try to push them to dinner. Sometimes as much as I want Le Cellier I know it's not worth it and in the end the pizza tastes just as good and is not as stressful. We've also over slept for a breakfast once or twice. With early risers we don't use an alarm clock and were amazed one day when we actually all slept until 9!! Man room service tasted good after sleeping in for the first time in like 4 years!!

Unfortunately the last 2 trips Le Cellier is the one that got canceled... which make me want to go even more.... why can't toddlers just cooperate! ;)

Thanks! You just reminded me I need to cancel the ADR's from our now-cancelled Christmas 2011 trip!

We've missed (canceled) one ADR in 7 trips. My youngest DS broke the wire on his braces and we were calling the orthodontist and trying to figure that out and ended up staying in our room. I did cancel the ADR but it may have been too late.

We plan our park days then make ADRs based on where we'll be. Usually one ADR per day, occasionally a character breakfast and dinner on the same day, maybe once on a trip.

We go for an average of two weeks and usually make between 20 and 25 ADRs. We cancel between 0 and 1 ADR per trip. We've had to cancel due to late flights and because we've just been too tired to get up for breakfast on our last day. Now we don't make ADRs for those times

We keep 95% of our ADR's because we spend alot of time planning and reading menus plus we normally eat at the park we are visiting that day. We have cancelled afew like CP because it was too hot for a heavy meal. We have moved up times because we needed a break or we were very hungry (LLT and Rose and Crown) late lunch instead of dinner. We have canceled because of rain out at the park (only happened once luckily). We always cancel our ADR to give some else a break.
We have 8 ADR this trip 6night/7day.

I go thru and check touring plans for crowds as best I can 180 days out and do my parks and then do my ADR'S but most end up outside a park anyhow after were thru for the day which is usually 7 or so PM we use some TS for character breakfast as we enjoy those. and we do one signature each trip. we do some TS in World Showcase --except when we go and food & wine is going on then we personally stay clear of there. we went last two weeks of September this year so all worked out fine:banana: if we have TS breakfast will plan that for in a park and then spend the whole day there. we so far have not had to cancel any dining...:thumbsup2
