What odd thing do you pack when going on a vacation (Disney, cruise, etc) that makes your life a little bit easier?

I pack a nightlight if I'm staying at a hotel or going on a cruise. It helps for late night trips to the washroom! lol

I don't consider it odd to pack a nightlight when staying in a hotel or going on a cruise, as I do the same thing. :)

I also take small flashlights, our own coffee mugs (large, with lids and handles), and my own bedside clock.

An over the door shoe organizer. It really helps keeping all our toiletries organized. Especially when all 4 are sharing a bathroom!

I have nightlight packed in my overnight case. It lives there so it is always with me.

I take a power strip where ever we go. Too many cell phones that need plugged in, as well as my Kindle Fire.

Duct tape. I found out on my last trip that it worked better than moleskin stopping blisters( not with my Teva Tirra's but with another of my Teva's). Moleskin just slid right off and bunched up.

I have a belkin which holds my laptop. I take it everywhere but not on a cruise.

a small tube of desitin and a package of migraine ice patches.

desitin is great for heat rash, and migraine ice patches (i like the soft gel type) can be applied to the nape of the neck (or as i prefer-below the neckline of a t shirt or tank top) and provide tremendous cooling. none of my family deals well with heat-and the patches are a godsend (and stay on well-i used them regularly when i did theatre productions, despite heavy costumes drenched in perspiration those patches stay on).

if we are going somewhere i KNOW we will be bring home items from i put a smaller (carry on sized) suitcase inside one of the larger ones then pack whatever we are taking with us. that way IF we need more luggage I've already got an extra piece with us. a roll of mailing tape has come in handy as well-I've yet to not be able to be given a box suitable for mailing at a resort or on a ship-so if I've got the tape at the ready i can always box something up to mail home.

i used to take a small alarm clock and flashlights but since both are on our iphones they are always with us already.

I'm sorry, I never saw that thread.

If the moderators would like to merge the two threads I have absolutely no issue with that.

I never saw the other one either. I wouldn't worry about it, OP. :)

I paid about $8 for ours on Amazon, we NEVER travel without one.
Ours was under $20 at Bed, Bath & Beyond. We've got it right after the "suitcase juggling fiasco" of 2010. Two of the four suitcases were over 50 lbs. Mine, slightly. Mom's -Whoa Nellie! lol

Air freshener and ear plugs
both items are mandatory when my family is sharing a hotel room
