I bough a resale & Diensy refused it - so we are getting into DVC.

once the docs get to me - I return them with the balance & then what?

how soon before I will get my DVC#

also - we are going to WDW on 9-27 until 10-5

will it help me to go to a DVC CM & try to facilitate the proceedings?

Your resale agent's title company is working on the closing docs right now. Once they get them done, they will fax a copy to you and the seller. The seller has to get the docs notarized, and you have to sign your copy and return them with a check to the title company. Once this is done, the title company takes the docs to the courthouse and records you as the new owner, and then notifies DVC. DVC then puts you in the system as the new owner.

How long this takes REALLY varies. We overnighted our docs, and then our seller had a hard time getting to a notary (so it was ALMOST two weeks before she got the docs back to the closing company). Once they arrived, the closing company did everything THAT day, and I called DVC the next day and BEGGED to get in the system. DVC was very nice, and ensured that I was in the system by the end of the business day, so I could make my ressies before the 7 month window opened up! They were SOOO nice!!

It all really varies...they say two weeks after you pass ROFR, but it really was done in 2 days after the seller got the docs back...I think it really depends!!

Good luck,

I really hope our closing goes quickly. I really want to book BWV (either 1 bedroom or studio - standard view) before the 7 month window opens up!!! We are hoping to go at the end of June, so I have some time. But the sooner the better!!!

The closing company said the seller is really anxious, so I am hoping she will get the documents back quick and I know we will be sending our stuff back overnight!!!

UGGHHH...the waiting is driving me crazy!!!

Beca pretty much summed up the procedures, so I really don't have anything to add there.

Absolutely not. If your closing company hasn't finished the closing procedures and sent the documents to DVC, there is nothing DVC can do at that point to help you. Once they get the closing papers, they usually act quickly getting you into the computer, usually under a week. Keep on your closing company for them to get you the documents for you to sign, but you can't do anything to make the seller go quickly, you just have to wait there. Good luck and Welcome Home!!
