Oboe, tenor sax, and vioin...however, I was trained in traditional Bel Canto vocals so gotta say my favorite instrument is a pure voice or chorus.

I love me a good classical piano especially with appropriate use of the sustainer pedal.

I also love the violin and it's versatility.

I love the sound of a cello. It's so full and rich, and I sort of feel it in my chest when I hear it. I've heard it said that the cello comes closest to the human voice than any other instrument.

Trombone! Thank goodness I like it, my DH is getting his DMA (doctorate in music) in trombone performance!

Even though I played the flute/piccolo in school, I always liked the brass better. I love the sounds of brass quintets, too!

I LOVE the sound of a French horn in a band/symphony performance. It just has such a pure sounding tone, and you know things are getting serious when the French horns get their big moment in a performance .

Going to listen to Holst's The Planets now. . .

French horn is by far superior to all other sounds on earth. It is the instrument of God.

And I'm not biased just because I'm a player or anything.

Different instruments are good for different moods/vibes.

Trumpets are great for many things, one example, watch that movie Mambo Kings, great. Made me want to go out and get some old Mambo music. The orchestration and trumpets, not big band exactly, but different. Its fabulous, trumpet lovers this movie is a must see.

Piano = elegant soothing.

Violins = elegant soothing as well.

Saxaphone = crazy, whacky, good times have fun type feeling.

Electric guitar = rocks.

Drums = makes you want to dance or groove to the beat.

Trumpet/Trombone = Powerful, exhalted, majestic.

I could go on, but I don't want this to be one of my 1000 word posts.

I love it when the cello kicks in in Beethoven's Ode to Joy, I thought it was really beautiful in the Emmortal Beloved movie version, it was emphasized kind of in that movie. Yo Yo Ma.
