My skin has been a dry, splotchy mess lately and I think I need a new moisturizer. I've been using Neutrogena tinted moisturizer but I need something more hard core these days. What do you like to use?

You won't believe it but:

First I put on a coating of Cetaphil in the green tub. The thick stuff. I let that absorb and then I put a thin coating of vaseline on top. After awhile, I kind of "tissue" it off.

I have very dry skin and I have rosacea and lots of splotches. This helps better than anything. But if you are oily, probably not a good idea.

Great idea. Cetaphil soaks in and the vaseline protects the surface. If you don't want anything that thick, baby oil will do the same thing.

Believe it or not, I've been solely doing the Vaseline thing for over 20 years. Only recently, I've added the Cetaphil to my repertoire.

Anytime I stop the Vaseline, I start to flake after about 2 weeks without it.

Isn't it great that the same old simple cheap stuff works great. At least on some people. :)

For my face, I'm a big fan of the Oil of Olay products. :thumbsup2 I especially like the Regenerist line.

For hands and body, I use Lubriderm. I switch between the formula for extra dry skin and the new shea butter formula.

I use Clinique's Superdefense during the day and NeoStrata firming and anti-wrinkle cream at night.

I think Eucerin creams are good for dry and irritated skin. I've never tried it myself so I don't know what their like. I've seen them in Shopper's Drug Mart a couple of times.

OTH, you might want to go to the doctor and make sure it's not excema because you'll need a prescription cream (steroid cream, I think that's what they are) to get rid of it.

The best thing I found is keeping a bottle of baby oil in the shower. Once I turn the water off I cover my skin in oil. It works really well for me!
