Oh my gosh, this gets me every time! DH is a runner and we just did WDW and DL last year for the Coast to Coast Challenge. I was a big emotional mess both trips! Seeing all the runners was so awesome. And especially walking around the parks with DH wearing his medals. The cast members would always acknowledge the runners and clap or bow or say Congratulations, and it always choked me up. I wasn't even running and the power of it all was just so overwhelming. It was truly magic.
I just watched the video of the Magic, Memories and You show on www.wdinfo.com. It was fun to see and gets you a little misty-eyed, but man alive, when they showed the footage of Walt Disney talking on the castle, I lost it. Like so many people on these boards and elsewhere, I have so much admiration for Walt and his dreams. How lucky we are to have a great gathering place here at the DIS to share our Disney love.
I'm not normally this sappy....I'm just having one of those warm-fuzzy sort of days I guess.
I tear at the happiness I see in my children's faces and knowing how excited and special they feel being in Disney World. Just the most priceless memories...
I sometimes tear up when i see a little girl with her dad. My dad loved Disney and even tho i had my problems with him I'll always be grateful he gave me my love of all things Disney.
I'll be tearing up in the morning as I watch my DS leave on a WDW trip without me!! So excited for him...so looking forward to the next time I get to go, too!
And Illuminations. That music is just so great to go along with it - gets me every time.
I tear up thinking about my old childhood memories when my love for WDW started. Our grandparents took us pretty regularly as kids and my grandfather has been gone for 15 years now. I think of him every time I go and it really makes me tear up too.
Last week I teared up at the opening of MK, watching my boys' reaction to seeing "the big ball" for the first time, watching them play in the pool while I lounged poolside, as they stared up at Mickey while he was signing their autograph books, yeah pretty much a couple times each day I was also on the verge each time one of our boys saw a crying child and asked me for a sticker to give to them and then seeing the other parents reaction when their child stops crying when our boys swoop in with a distraction. That was awesome.
Well, I dont know if there is jsut one thing at WDW that gets to me...all the magic is something special, thats why we are DVC members and I am on this board all the time, living thru others trips and learning more about my favorite place
If I had to list special moments though....
driving in form airport and seeing the WDW arch
"welcome home"
went with nieces and nephews last year for their first visit....reliving all those first experiences again
The Disney Travel Video....the new Disney commericials.....the Mickey Hands at Orlando International Airport....seeing the Castle for the first time....and everytime we leave....
for me its after entering the gates in magic kingdom, rounding the corner and seeing the castle for the first time. wishes gets me everytime, and sometimes while i am in the space mountain queue the music in there is so beautiful it gets me a lil misty.
