What makes you cry?

Honestly I'm tearing up right now reading all of your responses! Such a sap!

There are lots of one time things that happen that get me going but here are the ones that get me every trip. I tear up when I see the sign for POR every year as we pull in - the first sight of Main Street and the castle - the ending of One Man's Dream movie - opening at MK (everytime) - and whenever I see Mickey (he's the man!)

I felt like a complete moron the last time we went to Disney. We took our DD (who was 4 1/2 at the time) for her first visit.

Well, we didn't tell her until THAT morning that we were leaving..... yup, I cried when she realized where we were going.

We get to Orlando...we're on the ME and they're playing the video. It's starting now to hit her "what" WDW really is. ( she really didn't know "what" Disney world was, she's only 4 and had never "seen" anything about it... only that it existed, you know?) Her little eyes were like dinner plates !! The more she watched she realized really what was happening. ....yup. I teared up. ;)

Then we checked into the GF. Wait for it..... they upgraded our room to a Castle View (it was my birthday) and put in a white chocolate Mickey Mouse that had a "Happy Birthday Jill" sign (in chocolate)....on a plate w/ choc covered strawberries. Yup, I cried. I couldn't believe that for our first family trip, we now had a view of Cinderella's castle. It was MAGIC.
We watched the fireworks from our balcony the first night. Life doesn't get much better.

For our first day, we went to MK.....we happened to go in right when the 3:00 parade was starting. Well, who does my DD see ? Jessie...her HERO ! She runs out in the street and just completely hugs Jessie. It was like, OMG, what do we do now ???? :scared1: Well, Jessie walks her back to us, (we actually got a pic of the whole thing too !!) and pats her little head and gives her another hug. The CM (next to me) and I both just burst out in tears. We were total fools!! It was absolutely such a beautiful moment that I'll remember forever.

To me, these are the reasons why Disney is the happiest place on Earth. They bring such love and magic into your heart.

Excuse me, I need a tissue again !! :rolleyes1

I'm not an emotional person and don't cry that much but, man, I tear up at Disney commercials, Disney music and anytime I walk in front of that Cinderella Castle.
I'm going to need to bring a box of Kleenex with me when we bring our kids to Disney in Dec.

I normally cry on the plane ride home. It makes DH crazy. He's like "we'll always come back, no need to cry". I dunno- I like being in the fantasy world of WDW and coming back to 'real life' always hits me hard.

Last year was our first trip, and I cried pretty much the whole time I was there. :rotfl: I cried at rope drop at MK when my son saw Mickey Mouse for the first time. The look on his face was priceless. I cried when I saw the castle, every time my son met a character, at parades, fireworks, everything. When we were walking down Main St., my son (he's 4) stopped and just started shaking his head and putting his hands on his head, so I asked him what was wrong, and he says "Mama, I can't believe we're really here. I just can't believe it. We're here, Mama!" And I cried, once again. :lovestruc

I cry as walking out the park for the last time. I usually tear up on the ride back to the hotel-usually we are at the Magic Kingdom the last day. We usually ride the boat back and that's when it hits me... I'm leaving the Happiest Place on Earth :guilty:

As many PP have mentioned....those darn Disney commercials get me every time!:sad1:
Just hearing the music can now bring a tear to my eye. (BTW - anyone know if that song is available anywhere?)

In the Parks, I usually tear up watching my family watch Wishes.:sad1:

And of course, leaving MK for the last time is a very sad moment for me.:sad1:

when someone steps on my foot... gets me every time. but seriously folks...

Twelve years ago, when DD (then 5) saw Tink fly for the first time during Wishes. She was sitting in my lap and i'm not sure anything has gotten me as choked up as that. The wonder and awe on her face will always be priceless.

Agree with most of the other PP in this thread though, it is the patented Disney magic that gets me. Each moment a testament to the wonder and magic Walt's vision has imparted into humanity.

Thank you, Walt, for everything.

I also get teary eyed when I listen to my Disney mix on my iPod.

The big triggers are: When You Wish Upon a Star, the Soarin' soundtrack, and The Main Street Electrical Parade. I just can't help myself!

Would you all laugh at me if I said I cry everytime I see the little castle icon at the start of every disney movie? Pitiful....I know....:lmao:

I cry when I get the package in the mail...I cry when I see my kids getting silly on the ME (and my kids are grown)...I cry when I see the castle and when we have to leave...We are going again in 2012 and I will have 3 new grandbabies with us so I know the waterworks will surely be amped way up...LOL...I cannot wait to put them in Mickey ears....:banana::banana:

Wishes for sure, and those magical moments that happen - even when they aren't happening to me. DH and I were taking the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, when down in the utilidors Cinderella caming walking down. The older lady (late, late 60's) nudged her husband, and as Cinderella passed he did a low gentlemanly bow. Cinderella didn't miss a beat and kissed him on the top of his head. When the man stood up you could see his eyes were very "moist". It doesn't matter how old you are, when the magic hits you, it hits you!:lovestruc

This made me well up! :goodvibes

I cried constantly on my trip! The very first morning I had breakfast at CRT - when Snow white came out a little toddler ran over and she kissed him, from then I was a wreck! I cried most times at Wishes, when Mickey saves the day at Fantasmic, during Philharmagic... basically anything! But I cried most when I left.

Last time was my first trip and I didn't know what to expect. Next time I'll know what I'm in for so I'll probably well up when I lock my front door on the way to the airport :rotfl:

i cried throughout my whole first trip. especially seeing Cinderella castle for the first time and during wishes. i cry just watching the commercials...

I cried happy tears pretty much the whole time I was able to take my family on their first Disney vacation. My sister uses a wheelchair full time and she said to me on the last day of our trip "I wish we didn't have to go home. This is the first place I don't feel different" Man, I'm crying now! :sad1:

Voices of Liberty, they get me every time. Last November, we visited the American Adventure on Veteran's Day. They did a special tribute to the armed forces and had corresponding visitors stand during "their" songs. I was a puddle!

Also, I always tear up entering the MK at rope drop as we walk (or dance) :) down Main Street, high-fiving the CMs with the giant Mickey hands! I just love the singing, happiness and anticipation of an awesome day :yay:

:grouphug: that is so beautiful !!!! that's what Disney is all about.
