What makes La Cellier so special??

We loved the filet. My DS is a picky eater but he loves steaks, and boy oh boy did he love his steak there. He had a bad cold, but he ate every bit. I love the filet because we rarely eat out at home and never go to steakhouses, so that was a big treat. We had a really nice waiter named Patrick who was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

is this ok to dine here with 2 little ones? I have a 1 1/2 yr old and 3 1/2 yr old.

I have a 2 yr old and we are going and I know he is going to put away those pretzel bread sticks, it is our first time, and oh how I am looking forward to it, I would be willing to take him to any restuarant at WDW hey we are all kids some just taller than others and in some of the upper class restuarant's we just need to use our inside voices and stay seated, that's all so you know your kids and you guys will have a great time!!!!

Well, I did LOVE the maple BBQ filet (gone off the menu now) and the dessert that I cant remember what it was, but I made them bring me more, was just some ice cream with something in it, and a topping. GOD I wish I could remember what it was (dont remember seeing anything like it on the menu now either) and the cheese soup.. really liked that (and it's still on the menu).

And I've said it was my 2nd best steak ever IMO, and I really like steaks..

But with the removal of 2 of the 3 items I LOVED, LC really doesnt appeal as much to me..

OH and the pretzel bread that someone mentioned!! Forgot about that.. I mean, I'm sure it's nothing special, but darn it sure was good..

I remember five or so years back when Le Cellier was one of those best-kept secret, underrated type restaurants. It was fairly easy to get a table, even last minute. Now that the secret is out, I wonder what the next up-and-coming restaurant is.

it was alright. we may go back, may not. i wont go out of my way to get a reservation there.

we tried it b/c of all the high ratings. We didnt have to wait long, we had a table for four but only two of us so it was spacious. It was quiet, not crowded, not crawling w/ kids, and the duck was AMAZING, never even had it before but WOW. The steak needed steak sauce but i was too timid to ask, on our next trip i will for sure, it needed it. It came w/ a very few small potatoes, nothing fancy. I wish i could've tried the cream cheese mashed potatoes, but it was lunchtime. I will ask this time though. The breadsticks were good, but i dont like to fill up on bread. I tasted my bf's beer soup and i thought it was ok, he liked it though. The dessert was good, it was a cinnamon ice cream w/ a granola like topping, very small and yet i could only finish half. The MANGO smoothie was VERY GOOD! and counted as a drink.

So, i liked this place b/c it was a neat environment, good service, great smoothie, very good steak (we NEVER get to eat steak at home) and it was only 1 TS.

We just added a lunch there to our upcoming trip.

Is it the restaurant i'm looking forward to most, no, but i know i will have a great duck, steak, mango smoothie and i'l ltry a new dessert, lol.

My favorite is Ohana, mmmmm.

Mickey Mom this is something that you will find on your own, I have heard diffrent things about Le Celliar for and will eat there in Sept for the first time, and only will I be able to justify it's worth, We all have different values.palates and expectations, and therefore we can appreciate the advice, but that is all it is subjective advice and oh it is greatly appreciated but to know is to know for ourselves, It will be my first trip to WDW and I have read and read and taken in condideration all advice but will have to find out all of this for myself, So I say go ,and then you will see what Le Celliar is to you?

There might be a new up and coming restaurant but I don't think anything will be such a well kept secret as time goes on. So many more people love dining at Disney than they used to (most people just did burgers and fries lol)

The atmosphere is great, and it's the only place my husband will order a steak from!!

Forget the steaks, they have the BEST cheeseburger EVER!!!

My DS15 literally makes a lunch out of the pretzel breaksticks, no seriously. He doesn't order anything else. And they keep bringing them, as much as we want!:thumbsup2

And yes, you could easily make a meal out of the cheese soup and breadsticks (they are soft and oh so yummy). But my DH and I always split the fantastic cheeseburger for lunch. We walk out of there SO full from all of that.

FRom the look and feel of the place to the food, a nice dining time.. It reminds me of the cold basement on the hot summer day with your mom bring you a nice cold beverage followed by a good tasting meal...(steak) yum

Three words: "Cheddar Cheese Soup"

Oh! And three more words: "Chocolate Whiskey Cake"

:worship:

I love the cheddar cheese soup and the maple creme brulee. I eat there almost every trip.

We got lucky last year when our ressie for Teepan Edo was cancelled and they gave us LeCellier. I am a big steak eater and was looking forward to trying it there. But I really was not impressed. Mine was a little tough and the taste was not that special. But overall it was a nice meal. I just really didn't see a reason for the hype. This year I didn't even ask for an ADR there.

Le Cellier is a cozy restaurant with a friendly staff. We had an ADR for 11:15am on our last trip and arrived 15 minutes early as suggested. We were pleasantly surprised to find the staff singing the Canadian National Anthem. They were also very eager to share their history and culture.
The Mushroom Filet was wonderful and the Maple Creme Brulee was to die for! My husband enjoyed the Strip and Chocolate Whiskey Cake. Our family will definitely return in the furure!

I'm sure this has been mentioned but Le Cellier is the smallest, if not the second smallest, TS in the World Showcase. The quality of food was great a few years back but has since tapered. Either way, logistically speaking, trying to get a reservation for a particular party size is very difficult unless you call 180+10 ahead of the time you want. Even then, due to its smallish dining room, it's tough to get in.

This restaurant is a must do on every trip we go!
The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting that I can't help but feel at home (Well I am Canadian..) and the staff are always extremely friendly. My brother actually works there right now and he honestly enjoys just talking to people. The servers are on a timed schedule with every group that comes in, so you are served right away and the food comes out fast.
Finally, the food is to die for! Never before have I had a steak that literally melted in my mouth. I have yet to try the Mushroom Filet (Going next month), but for sure the Filet from the old menu was honestly the best meal I have ever had. If the quality of food from the old menu continues on then this restaurant should be a must for any family.
