We are leaving in 50 days and I still havent called to request a certain loop. We have a preferred site reserved but my husband would also like to be very close to the marina to catch boat to MK. Which loop would you suggest out of the preferred?? Do they fill up the ones next to the marina first with the "snowbirds" that settle in for the winter months?
It really doesn't matter to me but my husband said Loop 100, 200 or 300 would be his choices--any preference on which one??

Thanks,

Lory

The 100 and 200 do have winter residents camped out and are the closest to the marina on the lake side of the road. The 300 is a pet loop so keep that in mind.

We like the 400 loop the best. Just cross the road and a short walk to food and water.

If you are not taking a pet try to stay out of the pet loops. No offense to the pet owners here (I have them too) but the pet loops smell like doggy doo.

That was something my kids and I notices as we cruised the campground last trip.

We do have pets but they are being babysat at home!
Does anyone have any thing to say about the 1400 loop??
It looks like it is a little closer to the pool area which the kids will want to be at every night!
How long would it take to walk to the marina from there?
I know I will never hear the end of it if from my husband if we dont get "the perfect site". Sometimes he is too picky.

Thanks again,

Lory

We have also stayed in Big Bear, Little Bear, 1400 loop, when our kids were small and it is a good spot for pool, campfire, movie, rec. center and Meadows access.

Walk time maybe 8 minutes, depending how enthused your DH is for that long, long walk.:hyper:

We too stayed in 1400 loop last year and LOVED IT! I have requested it for our January trip. We have 3 kids ages 9 yrs and under so the convenience to the campfire, pool, and trading post are nice. As John VN stated very short walk time; 8 min's max! Campfire probably 4 min's. 1400 Loop is preferred so you have to have a ressie for a preferred loop. Don't forget your cable to run for TV! When you check in ask the CM if you can see the map of the loop they are putting you in. Then you can see how far your "site" is to the comfort stations, walkways, bus stops, etc. If you are in loop 1400 you might can pick a spot closest to the CS. I prefer to be away from bus stops!
