What laundry detergent do you use???

I can't stand the smell of Tide, it just doesn't work with my body chemistry or something. I've used Purex for many many years and have been happy with all formulations and scents and the price is great.

Tide + Snuggle (I like the bear lol) is my preferred choice.

That being said, right now I am using some cheap stuff called Xtra.

Sort of on topic- for dry fit type material- how do I get the sweat smell out!! Vinegar,? Baking Soda? I don't know what DH sweats but EW!

Once I got a polyester jacket really cheap at an REI "garage sale". That's one of those member's only sales of items that were returned under their "100% guarantee" policy. Some items are clearly used, but this jacket looked pretty much new, except for the armpit smell. It was horrible. I tried soaking it in Shout, repeatedly pretreating it, etc. Eventually it just went away. However, if your husband is constantly redepositing the odor, I'm not sure what can be done though other than to wash it.

I don't use laundry soap. I went to a laundry ball several years ago when I was having so much trouble with allergies and will never go back.

The ball has minerals in it that neutralizes the water, removes stains and stink without problem, even from my running clothes.

My clothes wear much better with no soap junking them up looking brand new after years of wear.

I make my own -- 2 boxes of Arm & Hammer washing soda, 1 box of baking soda, 1 box of OxiClean, and a few drops of essential oils. We use wool dryer balls instead of fabric softener. For years we used Tide, but my whole family suffered from eczema. We finally figured out it was the detergent.

I use Tide (regular), because I like the way it smells in the box... but I haven't noticed that my clothes necessarily smell good. I do use Bounce dryer sheets and THOSE make my clothes smell good.

Arm and Hammer or Purex usually.

If something else is on sale at a better price I'll buy that.

But for some reason, usually when I'm in the local grocery store, Srm and Hammer or Purex seem to be the best buys.

All free and clear. They stopped selling Tide's and Cheer's free and clear versions near me. Tide breaks me out in a rash.
Downey for the rinse. April Fresh.

I think Gain smells the best. BUT I use a lot of Tide since Target usually offers gift cards if you buy them. (and I exchange my target gift cards for disney ones so it is worth not having the best smelling clothes I guess :P)

I suppose to answer the OP, Gain is pretty much P&G's perfume bomb. Some people like it, but anyone who prefers a more neutral odor is probably not going to like it. I prefer using detergents without perfumes, but standard Tide and Cheer (now a bargain brand) don't leave much perfume once it's rinsed out.

Oh, there's also Gain dishwashing liquid. I don't think it's much different than Dawn, but it does smell like regular Gain. However, I don't get it since everything just washes off anyways.

I buy whatever's on sale at the time I need it. Most times it's purex though. Right now I'm working my way through a GIGANTIC bottle of XTRA.

For a nice smell, Tide and Downy, same scents!

I recently switched to Tide Free and Clear since one of my nieces has Eczema. She has recently been spending a couple of overnights a week at my house due to her parents' work schedules so I have been washing some of her clothes and she has been using my towels for showering. Her Mom noticed that her eczema was acting up and asked if I would mind not washing her things. I decided to just switch to the Free and Clear for all the laundry since I didn't want to make extra work for her. I do kind of miss the nice smell though.
