Just wondering what kinda freebies everyone got when they purchased their DVC contract? When we did our tour we got the fastpasses and milanos and soda, and when we bought we got the tote bag and hats. Pretty sucky compared to other timeshare tours I been on. Just wondering if they used to give out better stuff, or if WDW got some better freebies...

We got fastpasses, a tote bag and some ice cream :lmao: We bought in Dec, so not sure if the swag was better before then....

We got the Bag, Ice Cream, and a gift card for my wife and myself. I can't remember if it was $15.00 or 30.00 each.

We got reasonably priced vacation accommodations for the next 45 years or so.

And a tote bag.

I got a tote bag when I bought back in 2001.

DVC has never given out much in the way of swag. It sorta sells itself, so they don't have to use bait like the other timeshares do to get people to come in for tours.

And I agree with vicki_c. I've saved enough on my lodging over the last 8 years to buy myself lots and lots of swag. ;)

Thats kinda what I though... I guess I should be happy with the DVC member hats...

We got pretty much...nothing! Except of course for the 40 some years of vacations, etc., etc... I believe we were promised some sort of bonus for taking the first tour, a dinner certificate or discount or something, but apparently they "forgot" after we took the tour and didn't buy. Maybe because we told them we were thinking about buying resale...probably a mistake! We did end up buying our first contract resale, then did an add-on at the SSR preview center, but we got nothing then either...I don't even think we got ice cream. Oh well, we got to see the models and have already had several wonderful vacations, but I've had to PAY for every Disney tote bag I ever had (I think I have 3)! Oh well...:rotfl::confused3:rotfl:

We got lemonade and cookies, plus the pen we signed the contract with.

We bought in 2001 and got the pen, and accomodations I could never afford every year.

we received a couple of tote bags, toiletry bags, and a couple of coffee cups with each signing. The last signing we also received a couple bags of pins.

And of course, the many years of happy DVC memories. :cool1:

I got a tote bag from my first add on. After that my guide wouldn't even let me keep the pen! :rotfl2:

We bought sight-unseen in 1993, but we got free park passes for each trip through 1999, I believe (Doc will remember this). The number of passes depended upon the size of the unit we stayed in each time. Plus a tote bag!

:lmao: :rotfl2:

We got 3 VIP FastPass cards, a tote bag, and an ice cream social. Actually, since we amended our contract to take advantage of better incentives, we got *2* tote bags. :thumbsup2

This first time we took the the tour 2yrs ago we received a 100 dollars worth of disney money, when we actually purchased a year later we received the bag.

Wait - you got hats? Wow. More than us. We did ice cream & fastpasses, oh yeah & an instant digital picture print (kind of photopass type but not quite) of us standing in front of a painted backdrop Mickey & Minnie after we completed the tour - followed by the tote bag after we closed. That and 45-50 years of wonderful vacation opportunities and savings over the traditional rooms. Oh, yeah, and we got to keep the hardbound Dream book and various assorted papers that our guide wrote notes on for us - but not the pen. Our guide was not so generous about the pen... :rotfl:

When we purchased HH in 2000 we got the standard tote bag, and at some point they sent us a nice matted drawing of HH that we had framed. When we added on through DVC at SSR I asked if we could have the same type of drawing of SSR and we got it. We have also got many DVC hats from our guide over the years.

I got a tote bag for my initial purchase and one add on. My last three add ons I got nada. When I added on BLT my guide promised me a cap and a tote but he never followed thru despite several requests. I kind of got the "Check (read tote bag) is in the mail" response. But I've got trips planned thru Food and Wine 2011 so I'm happy.

We purchased in November 2000, and we were given a certificate for a meal for 4 at Spoodles. We also were given refreshments before or maybe after the tour - I think it was lemonade and sweets. I've not heard of anyone receiving the meal before. But then I don't keep up with this topic either.

Two of us were signing so we received 2 DVC fat pens.

Later we received a print of BWV's in the mail as well as a totebag.

Over the years we received several other prints - we own at 4 resorts, plus a pin when VWL opened. And this reminds me - I've been meaning to frame the giclee they sent us!

For our first "tour with purchase-intention" in Jan 2004, we received a $50 cert redeemable at various WDW restaurants. We used ours for a delightful evening at The Flying Fish. We hadn't actually purchased at that point -- simply left our credit card on file with instructions to "charge away" if the right BWV contract became available.

When we later succumbed to purchase SSR by mail in May 2004, our docs arrived with the denim and leather backpack and resort lithograph. Attending the DVC member meetings on DCL's 2005 Panama Canal transition added lanyards and baseball hats (red).

Our 1st add-on included the familiar canvas tote bag. Our 2nd add-on, Sept-07, delivered a windfall of goodies: 2 APs for either WDW or DL, canvas bag, new hats (white), Dumbo "Have you heard the Secret?" pins, discounted rate and triple points (160 unrestricted developer points, 160 "current year" points as we were signing on the very last day of our UY, 160 new "current year" points the very next morning). Oh, and coffee and cookies while we signed the papers ... and a courtesy air-conditioned van-ride back to our hotel to get my Drivers License as I wasn't carrying it on me at the time.
