What kind of Monitor for processeing?

I can afford a Mac monitor, but would like to get something very good, Im considering the Dell U2412HM 24" . Only bummer is no HDMI input, not a real big deal I dont think...

Is there another monitor out there I should consider with a $300 price tag?

I cant recommend a monitor but do want to say regardless of the monitor you do get, make sure to also get a calibration tool as well.

I have a Samsung SyncMaster S27B350H - 27" LED-backlit LCD monitor that I like alot. Deep colors and blacks....nothing looks washed out.

I believe I got it for around $250 on Amazon.

I cant tell if that one has IPS technology? The resolution is a little bit lower than the Dell specs. Anyone else have an opinion, or do you all process on a crappy laptop too!
