We are staying at OKW for the first time and I was curious what kinds of groceries and snacks they sell on site at the DVC resorts. I have heard that we would be able to get bread/PB&J, I have heard they they even sell frozen dinners? Is this true? Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect? Are the prices ridiculous?

They do offer quite a bit actually in their small store. I remember seeing frozen meals, frozen pizza, bagged salads, bread, lunch meat, snacks, milk, juice, beer, wine, some whole fresh fruit, condiments.....Im sure someone else can help out here, but there is an ok selection.

There is a small variety of foods such as cereals, bread, canned veggies, and yes, even frozen dinners and pizza. Yes the prices can be ridiculous. When we were there in July, someone asked about the price of beer so I checked it out at OKW and found a six-pack to be around $13.00. Baby food was around $1 per jar also. There is a small variety, but not much stock of each item. I consider the on-site store to be like your neighborhood convienence store: you never buy groceries there unless you absolutely need to and/or don't want to go to the grocery store. If you are planning on staying several days and eating in your room (even just snacks), it may be worth your while going to the Winn-Dixie or Wal-Mart. Your other alternative could be using the on-line grocery ordering services and having it delivered to your room.

Have you thought about having a grocery delivery service like WeGoShop bring exactly what you want to you? We've done this for many years and had everything from bottled water, cereals, breads, soft drinks, PB, fragrance free laundry detergent and so much more delivered to our room. I feel, let them do the shopping and bring it to me is a lot easier then me going and doing it. Just a thought.

Alcohol products are very expensive in the resort shops. The other items are pretty much "convenience store" prices plus a little bit. We do most of our shopping at Publix, but use the resorts for those items you tend to forget at Publix or run out of during your stay.

They have an entire freezer sections of frozen foods. We bought Banquet Family size Mac/Cheese $5, Healthy choice lasagna +1 other $4, a few other assorted frozen meals, Frozen waffles, breakfast burritos, an aisle of bread, PBJ, cereals, cookies, etc. Fresh fruit $1, milk in assorted sizes, soy milk, juices, beer, wine, soda, etc. SSR had Ravioli for $3--I didn't see any at OKW.
If you need food for a family for more than 2-3 small meals, you are much better off getting a grocery delivery service. I was feeding 3 kids for 3 nights, so a few things here and there worked for us.

Cool thanks guys! It is just my husband and I so we don't need too much, but I think I still might look into how much the grocery delivery would cost us. I want to be able to make some stuff in our room...but my husband on the other hand would be happy getting an ice cream every meal ;) But I am glad to have an idea of what they have because with all the new luggage rules for the flights we can't bring that much with us this time where last time in 2005 we had practically one whole bag of just food!

What kind of bottled water, may I ask? I do not like Dasani or Zephyrillis, I hope to be able to get Poland Spring or Deer Park? TIA

Disney has a major relationship with Coke and Dasani is a Coke brand. I would be extremely surprised if any of the on site shops carried any other brand of bottled water than Dasani

DeeCee735 we always been able to get Aquafina from our grocery supplier.
