What kind of DVCer are you?

I'm not from New York.

I'm not gay but I've been to Gay Days.

I don't run. I won't even run to catch the Metro. I wait for the next train.

I do Food and Wine Festival but there is no running involved. I own points at BCV (for the aforementioned festival) and Saratoga Springs.

Not a whole lot of commonality there.

Just trying to find some common ground with some DVCers:

  • Are you from the NYC area? Im from westchester county, ny
  • Are you gay? have you been to gay days?
  • Are you doing the Wine & Dine Half Marathon? I will be its my first race
  • I tend to go late Feb to watch friends doing the Princess Half Marathon and If all goes well I usually go sometime Sept-Nov, this year as I said I'm running the Wine & Dine Half Marathon.
My home resort is primarily Saratoga Springs, I did an add on at Bay Lake Tower

  • Born in Boston, but now reside in Sunny Southern California
  • Yes I'm gay (lesbian), but you wouldn't catch me in Florida at that time of year EVER! We do use our points at VGC for GDs at DL.
  • Shin splints, gave up marathon running in the 7th grade
  • We seem to like May and October, with January also a popular time to visit. Low points and not much humidity.
Our home resorts are SSR, VWL, BCV and VGC. By the end of this year we will have stayed at all the Theme Park area resorts. So far we have loved them all and can't pick a favorite.

I'm from Michigan, Detroit area

I'm not gay, but have many friends who are. I haven't been to Gay Days. If it is during the summer, that is too hot for me! I won't travel to FL past March or MAYBE April, lol

I only run when I exercise. I plan on sampling many wines but no running during F&W Festival :)

My home resort is AKV :thumbsup2

We're from the Midwest, as you can see.

Yes, we just celebrated our 21st anniversary together. No, we've not made it to Gay Days!

Used to run everywhere...nowdays it's more like a brisk walk...(if that:rotfl:)

Really don't do the heat well but have tried it a few times. Enjoy Christmas at the World and Spring is always a great time. Fall is favorite...oh, heck, whenever we can afford it you'll find us DVC'ers at home at VWL.

1. Nope we are from Michigan, the shores of Lake Michigan.
2. Happily married for 16 year, but have many wonderful friends who are gay.
3. Never been to gay days
4. We have been to Food and Wine several times and plan on many more.
5. I am training right now for the Princess 1/2 marathon.
6. We own all our points at AKV, and would like to add on at Boardwalk.

Lived in IL my entire life, including school. I've visited NYC once though, if that counts. :)

Not gay, but I have family and friends who are. Never been to Gay Days.

Not a runner, and haven't been to Food and Wine yet.

With DH a teacher and now having kids in school, we've been summertime travelers. However, we managed a December 2010 trip, and we all fell in LOVE  with Disney at Christmas. We have a December 2013 trip tentatively planned, and DH and I were just talking about trying to squeeze in December 2012! :lmao:

We own at BLT, and are seriously considering an add-on at SSR, so I will say I like your taste in resorts! :thumbsup2

I'm most evil and hated DVCer on the planet!
- I financed all of my contracts for 10 years and plan to go to term.
- I use points for the Disney Collection and have even let some points expire!!:scared1:
- Finally, I really enjoy SSR and am GLAD to be an owner there!!! :scared: :faint:

I know, I know, the horror! But hey, you asked  :cool1: :rotfl: :lmao:

Yes, this is the best post ever!

We are financed for 10 years and considering an add on at SSR, which will also likely be financed. :lmao:

- No, we live north shore of Boston. With NYC only 4 hour drive, we do visit NYC often!
- Not gay, we've been married 26 years and counting. We do have wonderful gay friends.
- No marathons for us .. bad knees ..
- We travel to DVC early December every year. We've also been several times for F&W and F&G. We really enjoy F&W, however we love WDW during the Holidays ..and the cooler weather ..although last December was VERY COLD!!
- We joined DVC in 1997 .. our home resorts are BWV and OKW. We have stayed at all DVC resorts (including HH and VB) with the exception of AK and Aluni .. we hope to travel to Hawaii next year! We love DVC!!

Philadelphia area
Yep gay but never been to gay days
We went marathon weekend last year without the kids. Good luck running it's a lot of fun
Home resort is BLT because of the kids we wanted to be close to MK

Hi David.

Straight, gay-friendly, Central New Yorker checking in. I don't think I've ever been during Gay Days--when is it?

I have never done a Disney marathon, but I love Food and Wine Festival.

We are owners at AKV but love all the DVC resorts. We usually travel with our kids during Presidents Week and like to visit in October for a couple's getaway. We are taking our two teen boys and two of their friends to OKW in mid August. We are feeling masochistic.

- Not from NYC, but from the looks of this thread I'm part of the massive Kansas group that are DVC members! :)
- Not gay (went to WDW for the 1st time on my honeymoon) But I know many who are and I'm cool with that. Been to gay days twice... or at least at WDW during gay days.
- Don't do marathons but if I ever do run a race I think it would be in WDW. Maybe that would motivate me to train for it! Been to Food and Wine fest and plan to go again this year.
- SSR is our home resort. Love DVC and hope our family continues to enjoy WDW and Disney travels for many many years to come!

:) DH (boy)and I (girl) live on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi
I love rainbows and would proudly wear one on my red t shirt at GD, but we have never been.
Lord no, DH and I both a very pooh sized and while we have started exercising it isn't to loose weight---only to have more endurance at WDW. I always tell folks I work very hard to look like this.
DH and I purchased our points at AKV in 2009 and we love our DVC. I am out in our house as the Disney Freak and DH is still in the closet----but I hear him talking to friends about what he knows to help them on thier trips.

2) No, not gay. Yes, we've been there during Gay Days a few times.
3) No, not going during the Marathon BUT Best Wishes to you as you race.
4) Our home resort is Boardwalk and we added on at Boardwalk!

I'm among the evil-doers! I also financed my contracts and will probably go to term. I also let points expire BUT only once and I'm really careful about it now.
I have never been to SSR though but have been making the rounds and will probably get there at some point.

1) From IL living in IN but love to visit NYC. Actually stayed in Tarrytown back in 2000 doing stuff at the Bayer plant. Now I am a SAHM :cloud9:

2) Not gay, married for 17 years, but dd7's BFF and her "moms" are going to WDW in December with us. They have become my BFF's over the past few years :hippie:

3) No marathons here but I would like the Wine and Dine part!!!:rotfl:

4) Like to go in Dec and March but really looking forward to Oct in 2012.

Own at SSR and staying there for the first time in Dec. Hoping to add on at BWV in near furture.

Are you from the NYC area? Nope, from the San Francisco Bay Area
Are you gay? have you been to gay days? Nope and Nope. I have lots of gay friends (erm, see location above :rotfl: ) and would go for Gay Days if it ever worked out with my schedule. Always nice to see happy families of all kinds at Disney :)
Are you doing the Wine & Dine Half Marathon? I will be its my first race I don't do running  I do do wine though, hmmmm....

We go to Disneyland and like to go sometime in early summer and again at Christmas :) We are on the wait list to own at VCG.

We are the Garcia's Family;
We are originally from Puerto Rico ( USA Territory and Commonwealth).

Our love for WDW started when DH took me for our honeymoon in 1994 to WDW and since then I just felt in love with the place.
We decided to buy into DVC, for the spacious accomodations, the flexibility of choose when to go on vacation, and most important, We lived soo far away from P.R. that its a lot easier for our families, meeting with us in Florida. :grouphug:.

Our Home Resort is Saratoga Springs, and we stayed there twice the last year and we loved it. We booked this next December AKL Kidani Village ( 1 bed standard view) and we are soo looking forward to try this beautiful place ( i called at my 7 month mark early morning)

I would like to know more about this resort and I would like to find out some more information, I will appreciate any advice.. We are very hardworking and humble people and Our families are looking forward to many vacationsin the future to come..

By the way, I would like to know ( if it is okay with the Moderators) How many families form other countries international countries have been buying into DVC.. ?
Not my intention to hijack this treat, sorry:hug:,just out of curiosity..
I know that DVC is open to people of other natioanalities and that is what make them so unique ..
God Bless and Thank you for reading.. :teacher:

1) We're from Illinois - but I've been to NYC a handful of times. (one of my couples is from there)

2) Hetero couple deeply involved in gay rights advocacy. I have been a surrogate mother for gay couples 5 times, and we proudly wear our alliance pins on our Disney lanyards. Would love to attend Gay Days, but haven't yet.

3) No marathons for us, but my husband is a runner.

4) We're proud owners of SSR! :cheer2:

Common ground:

We're all DVC'rs and secondly, spent a lot of time in NY, we visited my grandmother often, she lived in Waterloo NY, (fingerlakes area) the birth place of Memorial Day!

1. Not gay but due to school schedule we've often gone during gay days! Have gay family members and friends!
2. Did food and wine once, children not condusive to this endeavor, so postponed till DS(14) is in college or chooses to no longer come with or can appreciate lallygagging around!
3. I'm a walker not a runner but hope lives eternal!
4. I'm of Canadian origin but living in Florida since 1972! Have been coming to Disney since it opened! I live 2 1/2 hours away from Disney!
5. Joined DVC in 2000.
5. OKW is my favorite resort, followed by SSR & BWV but I'd stay in any of them. Love Disney.

I'm from Allentown, PA. Not quite the NYC area, but it IS mentioned in the Broadway musical "42nd Street"! Does that count?

I am also gay, and have been to Gay Days about four times over the years, including this past June.

Not doing the Wine & Dine Half Marathon, although I considered volunteering for it this year, but it seems they're already full for volunteers. Will be there solo for the opening weekend of Food & Wine Festival regardless.

My home resort is Old Key West, one of the first proud owners way back in 1992! My partner owns at Saratoga Springs. It's a challenge keeping track of both sets of points so as not to let any expire!
