My daughter and I are going in mid-may this year, never been there that time of year. She's in college, now, final exams end quite early in the month. It's perfect for us, because most of her other friends won't be out of school yet and summer jobs won't have started. I was just wondering - is it all toddlers, retirees, and others not in school? Who goes in May?

If I started a thread asking for when the last day of school was for everyone, would it be helpful? Has it already been done? IT's great if you can get there before the floodgates completely open!

I would think that the crowds would be OK since most people would not want to take their kids out of school so close to the end of school. Most schools in Texas get out of school at the end of May. I hope this helps a little.

We go every May and find the crowds are'nt bad at all. Many times we just walk right onto the rides. The weekends and last week in May are more crowded.

We have gone the last 2 years in May and it was wonderful. The weather is great and neither year did we have rain. I'm thinking about going again this year but now my dd is in kindergarten and it would mean missing a few days of school. We'll see. I hope you have a great time!

Mid-May is fantastic!! :D Great weather, no crowds, etc. Have a great time!

My mother and I went last year from April 26 to May 10 and we found the crowds were heavier than in September and October when we usual go. One hour ago I just booked our trip for May 4 to May 15 staying at OKW. For years the only place my mother wanted to be for Mother's Day is at the Magic Kingdom. So now she got her wish. I am sure the parks will be packed then.

I was told by the cast member on the phone that her daughter's classes end on May 23rd. The same for a friend of hers whose son is at a different school.

BTW, can someone direct me on how to do the countdown timer. I cannot seem to find the right link. Thanks.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We've always gone in May. We've gone with toddlers - because the weather is nice in Fla. - and we've gone in May as our kids reached schoolage. My daughter missed a week in first grade and a week in second grade. Both times we were given no work to complete. And she really didn't miss much. This year we are going May 30th. and pulling both grade school kids out (4th and 1st grade). The weather in Fla. is so nice in May, that it's worth it for us to take the kids out of school. (not sure about this year - it's gonna be hot and crowded the first week of June - we'll find out).

Go for May - it's wonderful.

before my DW started teaching, we always went in May and loved it. It would be our first choice every year if we could still do it. the weather is still quite warm, but, not real humid and very little rainy days normally in May. The crowds are usually not bad in May except for the memorial day weekend which gets pretty crowded. Our schools were supposed to get out on May 23rd this year, but, those darn snow days have pushed that back to May 29th now. I think the last week in May and first week in June is typically when most of the country's school let out. Some schools on the east coast don't let out until closer to the end of June though. Go in May and enjoy---probably the best time of the year all things considered. Mothers day fall on the 11th of May this year. I don't know if that will affect crowd levels very much, but, I wouldn't think so...with the possible exception of the Magic Kingdom. hope this helps

I didn't know Mother's day was so early in May. We have planned a trip for May 4-14 thinking weather would be great with moderate crowds. I thought we would be OK as long as we went after Easter and before Memorial day. I never put much thought into Mother's day being a possible problem. Anyone been to Disney on Mother's day? How are the crowds that day?
