What Kind of Cribs?

Are all the cribs that WDW offer the "Pack N Plays" by Graco or can you get a "real" crib? My son, who is now 6 mos., is pushing 20 lbs. and by the time we go in Augustm, he'll probably be at LEAST 25 lbs. I don't think the PNP will be sturdy enough. Will we be able to get a real crib at teh All Stars or a moderate? Thank you.

Hi Scanne!!!

Yes, you can get a Full Size crib at the resorts, make sure you have it noted on the reservation that you need the full size one.

How exciting that you are planning on taking the little Prince to WDW

We used a real crib at the GF twice and at POR.... then we used pack n plays at YC and OKW. I actually think the pack n plays are better. This last trip we took to the GF a few weeks ago the crib seemed like a death trap. They are old, metal, and rickety. Also they aren't full sized cribs, they're smaller and more square. I brought a crib sheet from home and it was much larger than the mattress.

Maybe ask for one of each, then decide which you like better.

And as far as weight goes, I think the cribs are better for small babies and the pack n plays are better for older babies and toddlers. Our older son slept in one up until he was 2 on almost every vacation we went on.

on our first visit to Disney I was worried about my DS,2 yrs, sleeping in a travel cot as I know he would NOT sleep in something with such a thin mattress. I knew this from bitter experience of other trips. I read on this site that you could request a propper crib from housekeeping. I did this and they brought me one, not very happily, but I did get one. They are metal but DS slept really well. I brought my own sheet and Woolly Sleepsuit and he was fine. I just have to have a good night's sleep or I am awful!!
