I've spent the past week searching for new cars for my DW. Her 1997 Saturn needs costly repairs and its finally time to move on to a new vehicle.

She just can't make up her mind about what kind of car she wantsor likes. We've gone to dealers and driven a Ford Fusion, Chevy Malibu, Toyota Prius, Volkswagen Jetta, and Honda Accord.

I drive a VW Passat which I've had the last few years and I really like it. So it got me thinking- what kind of cars do DVCers drive?

And if you have suggestions as to which one of these cars my wife should pick feel free, please let me know. :goodvibes

Do you like the the new Ford Escape? I looked at one on the lot and really liked it. However, I did'nt do a test drive. The only bad thing was the sticker price. Very expensive in my opinion for a Ford, but it was a hybrid. You might get a good deal at carmax.

I love my '09 Honda Odyssey. We finally splurged and got a vehicle that is loaded. DH loves it also and there is plenty of room. We took it to the world last October (drove from Northern Indiana), and my two DS (10 & 9) had lots of room. DH drives an Accord. Good luck in your search.

We own a 2004 Kia Sorento. We bought it when it was brand new, and it now has 114,000 miles on it and still drives like it's new. It has been a dream to own in terms of maintenance too - we've never changed the rotors and only the brakes once, and had to put tires on it once. No other major repairs (knock on wood) other than scheduled maintenance. Of course, though, Kia just released the redesigned 2011 Sorento which totally makes me want to trade mine in for a new one, but I'm holding off for now... We'll see how long my willpower lasts... :rolleyes1

Lamborghini Gallardo ;) Oh wait, Did you ask what car I drive or what car do I want? I' drive and recommend the Honda Accord, although I like the VW's too.

Love my Ford Freestyle (Taurus X), but unfortunately, they did away with them this year. Looks like my next vehicle will be a Flex.

I just bought a Nissan Altima a little over a month ago. I LOVE it! :lovestruc The best thing about it is that I don't have a car key. I have a remote that stays in my purse. All I do to open the door is push a button on the door, and all I do to start the car is push a button. As long as the remote is within 30 inches of the car, I don't have to dig for it. So convenient!!!!

I also love the gas mileage. 32 highway/25 city. It's been wonderful, especially since I traded my Dodge Durango for it, which got 12 miles/gallon! :scared1:

BTW--I was going to get a Toyota Camry but worried about the problems they are having. Then I was going to get a Honda Accord, but I don't like the interior. These are the two cars I had been looking at for the last 2-3 years. I never thought about getting a Nissan. I just decided one day to drive into the lot and look at them, and I bought on the spot! I've never done that!!!

Right now we have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer and a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. But I'm looking to get a Ford Edge (not brand new....looking at 2007-2009 right now). Will trade in the Intrepid.

Love my Ford Focus. And the 30 mpg it gets

One of our vehicles is a 2007 Fusion SE V6 and the car is awesome. It is extremely comfortable, handles great, gets great gas mileage and is fun to drive. We also have an Edge which is a great vehicle too. Both vehicles are enjoyed so much that it is a real toss up anytime we are going somewhere.

Neither one has Sync which I am looking forward to on the next vehicle.

We absolutely  our GMC Savana conersion van:drive:With all of our DVC roadtrips, it was a must. I am also a compulsive over-packer:confused3.

2007 Acura MDX - was my "toy" purchase. But I think I've grown out of my "childish" purchases (i.e. new cars only that are a bit expensive). We plan on keeping the car for many years.

2009 Subaru Forester and 2004 Saab 9-3. The Subaru is great, especially with the Maine winters. When it comes time for the Saab to be replaced, it will be with a Subaru Legacy - we haven't had good luck with it at all.

I'm on my second Chrysler Sebring convertible. I know, Chrysler, right? They've always done right by me. I love these cars. They look good and they drive great. I'm a believer! :goodvibes:thumbsup2

We love our 08 Chev HHR - car-like gas mileage, small SUV-like storage and space in back, and curvy throw back styling, for a better price than my last Malibu. :cloud9:

We've had really good luck w/ Hondas - both the Accord and the Civic. We purchased them for our daughters, so they were "beat to heck" and endured like a charm.

Honda are great cars. You also seem to need less maintence with them.

kept the oil changed and you are generally fine. they need very little other maintence.

the GM cars that I had before all needed SOMETHING just about everytime took them for services.

Lamborghini Gallardo ;) Oh wait, Did you ask what car I drive or what car do I want? I' drive and recommend the Honda Accord, although I like the VW's too.

We had a Honda Accord, too and LOVED it...until my son totaled it last week!!! You'll be glad to know it rolled over 6-7 times and all 4 kids were okay! Well built little car!
