What kind of candy are you giving out for Halloween?

I'm out in the middle of nowhere and didn't have any knock last year. I threw out so much candy that I'm just going to leave the lights off and not buy any this year.

Pop, chips, and little bags filled with 10 pieces of candy (Snickers, Reese’s, Kit Kats, Skittles, Swedish Fish, Sour Patch, Hershey’s…).

We’ve only been here for two previous Halloweens, but between our experience and the neighbors’ stories we only average around 5. A lot of the neighbors with kids take them to a different neighborhood because “there aren’t enough houses on our street.” Joke’s on them, I guess, because the rest of the neighbors passing out on our street give out fistfuls of candy, full-size bars, and dollar bills…

I can't be trusted with candy, so I just bought a small bag of fun size Twizzlers. They've mostly survived, so I think I've made a good choice.

The miniature candy bars...going to bring some to work on Friday and hopefully will get rid of the rest on Sunday night.

I bought several bags of mixed fun size candy bars. I’m expecting at least 500 kiddos. Ours is THE subdivision for trick or treating in our small town. We also draw in the kids from the surrounding rural areas. Last year was a blast.

Not giving this year. :( I moved recently, and this neighbourhood doesn't do house-to-house.

But for the last 20 years or so, we used to love seeing who was coming to get their goodies.
We ranged from little bags of mixed chocolate and other, to 1 small size, as the crowds rose and fell.
Most popular the last several years was anything in the 'hard candy' line - Life Savers, Skittles, Jolly Rancher, Warheads... Some kids dove into their bag as soom as we dropped it, excited for something that wasn't chocolate.

I have lots and lost of various chocolate treats, razzles, bottle tops, gummies, animal crackers, goldfish and applesauce pouches. I have a wide age range of kiddos and try to accommodate everyone. I love Halloween 👻

Does anybody remember schools giving out the little orange boxes for UNICEF to take trick-or-treating with you? I'm probably dating myself horribly. We would collect small change in the boxes along with our candy and return them to school the next day.
