What kind of bottle water

At my house either tap water, filtered water from the fridge (but lord those filters get expensive), or for bottled water Costco's brand (Kirkland).

For me & DH at our house we drink tap water with a little grape juice or cranberry juice. The kids drink Brita filter water. For times out of the house, we use Kirkland bottled.

My tap water is fine, but i have a crazy big stash of small ish cooler bags we take everywhere with 3-4 waters - we get Deer Park (regional). My fave is Zephyhills (Florida), for splurges, Fuji or Voss.

In our community, we have excellent water. I have no idea what makes it so good, but it tastes so clean & pure & fresh.

So, most of the time, we just use tap water - although it's filtered through our refrigerator filter system.

Our water is the main thing I miss when we travel.

We do buy bottled water when we travel, for swim meets, & various other excursions/activities, & we usually buy the Publix brand. However, sometimes, we'll buy Dasani if we're tired of the flimsy, thin Publix bottles & want/need sturdier bottles. I like the Smart Water brand too.

I always have water w/ me! Before I leave our house, I fill up my Yeti w/ ice & water from our refrigerator. However, like another poster mentioned, when did we get like this? Growing up, I can't remember anyone ever having his/her water w/ them all the time.

When I was a kid I remember big jug dispensers that were common at things like sporting events, parties, and picnics. The ones marketed by Gatorade usually have a mount to hang a cup dispenser. They're still made today. I've even been to college sporting events where my kid walked up to the dispenser and a player or coach said it was OK to just get one.

I even remember that our local McDonald's would lend out these jugs to local schools for free. We had a few events where there was a well-marked McDonald's jug.

Bottled water has been around for ages, but typically it was in one or five gallon containers in the United States. I don't really remember too many portable water bottles until perhaps the 1980s. Now going around with water-specific bottles was pretty common in bicycling for obvious reasons. Hikers and backpackers were also carrying water bottles for years. That's how Nalgene got started as an "outdoor" company. They really made labware, but some lab workers figured that their bottles were pretty useful for carrying water on hikes.

When I was a kid we always had kool-aid, iced tea, and soda in the fridge. I hardly drank water. Thankfully my kids generally prefer water. They hate Capri-sun type drinks and juice, though they'll take a Coke any day.
