Electricity was lower than we expected this month. :faint: Two adults in the house and it ran around $165. The July to August bill is normally the highest of the year. All we can think of is we've got the a/c lower because we're getting use to the Florida heat. :teeth:

Ours usually runs $85 - $120. Just DH and myself live here.

OP, I wish I lived in your world where $170 was at the high end.

2 of us.

$700 / mo (gas & elec)

We are a family of 5 (DD13, DD10. DS 7 months) and live in a1800 sqft house with a full basement to boot. Our bill includes electric, gas, water, trash, sewer.........everything. Last month our bill was 211. the month before 185. The air is set at 78 at all times, unless I am hot at night and I nudge it to 76. However in the winter it doubles becasue I cant stand to be cold.

For the current year based on my balance billing as of December 31 of this year I will have paid $4,812 which works out to $401 per month for a two story 2900 sq ft house with zoned a/c, two fridges, and a swimming pool. A/C is set at 78. Oh the joys of living on the coastal plains of Texas. The only up side is gas in the winter (Nov- March) is only about $70 a month and $27 a month the rest of the year. I have friends who like it cooler in their houses and will easily pay as much as $600 to $700 a month for 7 months a year.

Just DW and I. Our July bill was $114. May sound cheap, but last year it was only $70 (DW is a fanatic about leaving extra lights on. I sometimes think my name is Turnthatlightoff).

That's industry deregulation for you.

Our most recent electric bill is $345.00. Thats for a family of 4 in a 1650 square foot house in Florida. We keep the temp set at 79. The bills have been running about $75-$100 more than last year. We do have 1 more adult than last year since my sister relocated but most of the increase is due to higher fuel prices.

I couldn't believe it...when my ex-husband was still living in our apartment, our electric bill was about $250/month. He moved out - the next month, it was $76. I don't know what he was doing when I wasn't home - running every single appliance/both TVs/turning on all of the lights at once?

I'm looking for it to be close to $150 in the winter, though. Electric heat.

In NH, only two people in 1900 sq ft townhouse

We paid $2100 for the year, but we were only here 6 months of it. We use air conditioning in the summer and, in the fall and winter, supplement electric heat with gas heaters and a wood stove. When we are gone in the winter and spring the electric heat is set at 68 so the pipes don't freeze, plus we leave a light on in every room (bugs and thieves). The gas heat runs on the first floor and helps somewhat with the two upper floors.

We do use the budget plan. They set the amount in August (last year $170 per month), then raise it in February, just as we leave for Florida, because our current usage is high (last year $204 per month).

In FL, only two people in a 1800 sq foot condo.

We pay this bill monthly rather than use the budget plan. When we are not there the bill runs $30 per month. When we are there it runs around $160. Everything there is electric.

Avg $400- for 2 people in a 4300 sq ft home with a pool that the pump runs for 8 hours a day. The total includes gas, water, electric and a fire dept fee of $25 a month, a pest control fee (mosquito spraying )of $2 a month.
In summer my bill is usually about $450, but in the spring and fall it's $280. Winter it's $350.
We have lots of electronics that are on all day, plus I keep the temp at 76 during the summer and 74 during the winter.

4 people in the house. Last months elec. bill was $330.00, which was the highest ever! We have a small house. The water and sewer is well over $100. per month and Gas isn't too bad (heater and hot water).

I selected $50-$90 per month. It tends to go up during the summer months because of our pool filter and ceiling fans running all of the time. This past month it was $87. We use oil for our heat and hot water. Our home is about 1200 sq. ft. There are two adults two children in our household.

4000 sq f, 2a 2c, $273 last month (We have a four season room with a/c and 7 person hot tub that draws a lot of energy.)

If you're referring to the electricity -- ours about 4200 square foot house, six of house, last month with the A/C on most of the time but on high...it was $192--- I expected to be higher though.

Electric $350 a month in summer, $200 in cooler weather and with hot tub shut down
Gas $175 a month year round (Gas heat and hot water, balanced payment system)

Phone $60 month Cell phones $85 month (for 4)

water/sewer $100 or so per month

$185 per WEEK for health insurance (for family of 4)
$200 per month for life, auto, homeowners insurance
$335. per month prop taxes

Life is getting too expensive, sorry venting I guess

2 kids 2 adults not a big house

I was just lamenting my newest electric bill that I received Saturday. $319.00. I just about had kittens when I opened it! 2400 sq ft house, 2 adults, 2kids, 2dogs. Thermostat set on 80 upstairs, 79 downstairs (78 downstairs at night). Gotta love these wonderful Texas summers. :sunny:

Another Texas summer victim here,

Electric: averaging around $300
Sq Ft: 2120
Occupants: 2 adults, 4 kids, 1 Great Dane & 3 rats

Family of 5. 2 adults, 3 kids under 12. Our average electric bill has run about $128 a month, but I have to say we have a no holding tank for our water right now, so our pump runs more often than it should.

$623.92 for this month. I just paid it today :sad2: We keep the house at 78º
5200 square foot house with central air. 6 people. pool filter runs every night.
In the late fall it should drop....I hope.
