What is your Tween Girl going to dress up as for halloween?

After saying that she couldn't find anything "appropriate":rotfl2:yes my 12 year old!
I'm making her costume.
It's going to be a "group" with her 2 brothers- They are going as MarioKart characters

She'll be Toadette, Littlest is being Toad and other brother is King Boo. And yes I should be sewing right now. So far only Toad is done!

DD10 is going with 2 of her boy friends at the Blues Brothers. I am not sure who the 3rd one is...Jake, Elwood and ????? We bought her black pants, white shirt and black blazer at Goodwill for $7. The black skinny tie cost us $6 at the costume store.

I don't allow those sexy costumes for my DD16, either. She's been making her own costumes since she was about 7. I take her to the thrift store and turn her loose. This year she's going as Vampire Pocohantas :rotfl: She has a gauzy tan spaghetti strap short dress which she will wear with a light brown sheath she has torn to look like buckskin. She found some moccasins, a blue bead necklace, and brown feather earrings. She will powder out her face and load on the eyeliner and red lipstick. Cool, no? I think the whole outfit MAY have cost $15--the earrings were new.

She's going TOT with her 7 BFFs and her BF. I asked her what BF is going as. She said he's not dressing up. He's a serious, intellectual kid, a senior who's already been accepted to MIT. I guess those engineer types don't like to pretend. They make a good couple--she's a drama geek and he's a math geek. He goes to see her performances, he helps her pass Algebra 2 and Chemistry.

DD12, 6th grader is going as Arwen. She has the long flowy dress, the cape and a fairy necklace. She is also going to carry a bow and around her waist she has a holder for arrows.

Just for fun, were at one of the local halloween stores and she found an outfit that she really wants. I think I'll get it for her when it goes on sale Sunday. It would be perfect for her dress up like Abby from NCIS. She already can braid her hair like Abby, I can do her make up, she has tons of over the knee socks and she has big clunky shoes she can wear and it's not to hard to find jewelery for her. She also has a stuffed hippo she could carry. I told her, if only she had waiting like I told her to, before buying the stuff she needed to do Arwen.

My daughter is almost 17 (so not really a tween).
I still think that most of the Halloween costumes are just too sexy (even for 17)
The costume store here had 3 different Raggedy Ann costumes.... 1 very slutty one, 1 "medium" one, and one very conservative one....She chose the middle one, and has convinced her boyfriend to be Raggedy Andy (I made his costume for him!)
Im sure she will be the most "conservative" girl at the party they are going to.....
It's a shame that girls start with the "grown up girl" costume mentality at around 12...

DD-13 is going as a ladybug - I'm not crafty at all. Bought it online with a coupon for under $30. Saw some cute ones in the stores, like mother nature, but they were too expensive. And yup, most of them were too mature for her age - heck, some were too mature for my age:rotfl2:

DD10 is going as a renaissance princess, DD9 is going as bacon. They both still fit into kids' sized costumes and have not yet asked for trampy ones.

My 13 year old loves history so she is wearing a Colonial American style dress. We bought it at an auction for about $5 this summer. She isn't sure if she is going to wear it to school on Friday though, she is a little worried about not being "cool".

My dd is being a Colonial girl, too! We were given the costume by a friend who had it for her dd for a Colonial History school project and it fits fine.

I read an easy costume idea on another board. You can safety pin Smarties candies all over her pants and have her wear a sign that says "Smartie Pants." :lmao: I like that idea!

My dd 11 is doing the "cheerless leader" or zombie cheerleader, bought at Target, but added long sleeve black t underneath, as well as black tights and black and silver leg warmers and her black boots (It had net shorts and then the "tunic" that was the entire costume with red mesh between the "top" and the "skirt". My dd9 found one that is like a skeleton skater girl, has a mesh shirt, leggings, and tank hoodie in black with skeleton bones in white on the leggings and the tank. She is also wearing black tights underneath for warmth and her tennis shoes.

DD is going as a girl at the spa. She's wearing a big fluffy robe, her hair up in a towel wrap (Dollar Tree), fake nails, and a green facial mask (painted on with face paint). She went to a church TOT night last night and won a prize for best homemade costume.

I do 2 costumes for my 2 DDs (13 and 10) each year. My Mom would freak if she knew what they were/are for Halloween. :scared1: Last year they were Thing 1 and Thing 2 for Grandma and a vampire and Ozzy Osbourne for TOT. :lmao: This year they are garden gnomes for Grandma and a goth angel and hippie for TOT. Trust me, it is just easier this way. I hope they love me enough when I get too old to understand and just please me! :rotfl:

Dd is going as a Precious Pirate....we had to add a tshirt to it though cuz the costume has straps.

DD 10 will be a ninja.

.its actually a boys costume, but she loves it...she wanted to be the Elizabeth pirate from POTC..but the costume was $40 and no way and no how am I paying that for one night.

Actually my son will also be a ninja...dd16 is going to be an angel, got it at walmart.. just long white robe, halo and wings..everything else was way to sleazy.

By the tween age DD started coming up with her own costumes and we stopped buying the store ones. This year, if she doesn't have to play for pep band, she is going as Waldo (Where's Waldo). Last year they just wore goofy clothes and did funny stuff to their hair-I don't know what they were. The year before they went as babies-PJ's and a bottle. The year before that they went as the 3 little kittens that lost their mittens.

DD13 was Constance for the DLR Trick or Treat Party, her costume was very original and the idea was hers. :) I'm not sure what she's going to do for Saturday but for Friday they are allowed to dress up for school, she is going to wear kitty ears, a black dress and black tights. She picked one black dress that was simply too short and I told her it was too short, she said "But Mom, this is the ONLY black dress I have" so I told her maybe she shouldn't wear a dress, she went back into her closet and found another one pretty quickly. LOL The second one is knee length so it's plenty long enough. :)
DD9 was a pirate for the ToT Party, tomorrow is PJ day at school so she will wear PJs, Saturday she wants to wear her gothic sorceress costume from last year. :)

It is hard to find good costumes for kids, too many are just to grown up......

DD (11) is dressing up as Haruhi. My mom made her the costume. Looks great! She wore it to a convention this past weekend.

DD12 is going as an artist. She is wearing overalls, and a beret and carrying a paint pallete and brush. We will add some "smudges" of face paint for effect.

DD(13) is going as a "Senorita" we got it at Walmart (it's a kids costume) for 14.00, it's actually really cute. She also bought a black cape to wear with it.

DD is going as a girl at the spa. She's wearing a big fluffy robe, her hair up in a towel wrap (Dollar Tree), fake nails, and a green facial mask (painted on with face paint). She went to a church TOT night last night and won a prize for best homemade costume.
