When we were first married my husband and I went to a party. The hostess had made a cassette tape of love songs and dedicated each one to the different couples there. So, we were sitting there waiting for our song and she announced the next one was dedicated to us "because we always seemed so much in love." We cracked up when "What the World Needs Now (is love, sweet love) came on. DH started supplying his own lyrics, "We can't pay rent, but we order pizza, anyway."

Everytime we hear that now, it makes us laugh. That's what I'd consider our song, even though I can't say I like it much.

Con Te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye) by Andrea Bocelli.

I know it is corny, but that's part of the story!!!

I had heard this song and thought it was lovely. I played it for husband, he thought it was nice and corny thought that it would shortly become THE wedding song for every one.

Cut to my cousin's wedding and that's THEIR song. They even performed a choreographed first dance to it and it was very nice. But really, eeryone by then had this song as their song.

Then, a few months later, Husband and I have this terrific Vegas trip. We are just so on, and so tight with each other, we don't want to leave. And we hit jackpots within seconds of each other. We make the taxi on the way to the airport stop at Bellagio for one more fountain song...and the one that comes on next is Con Te Partiro! It was fate.

Of course, normally that would seal it but when we went back to Vegas the first thing we did was visit Bellagio and the very first fountain song was Con Te Partiro. Our corny, silly, everyone plays it at weddings song.

But it is ours forever now.

When dh and I met I was going through the divorce from my ex, dh became my best friend through it all. Our song became "Hell and High Water" by T. Graham Brown. It was his favorite song at the time and the first song he asked me to dance to; I cried through the whole song!
