What a lovely thread!

I love....
having a bunch of tulips in my cobalt blue vase
relaxing in my adirondak chair in the backyard
curling up with a good book, a mug of coffee or tea, and a cat
enjoying dark chocolate with a glass of good wine
eating fresh fruit - especially if it's still sun-warmed picked fresh and found at the farmer's market (or a friend's garden!)
snuggling up with Dh
sitting and listening to the ocean and watching the rhythm of the waves
napping on my bed in the sunshine with a soft blanket and my cats
making the 18mo. old girl I nanny laugh her big belly laugh
watching that little girl explore something new
reading poetry outloud with DH

Taking a walk with my dog Dax on a summer morning, before it gets hot.
Wading in a stream, or better yet in the ocean.
Laying in bed talking with DFiance, not worrying about where we need to be.
That first warm sunny day of spring.
And one I had today- the first time you smell spring, if that makes any sense! I got it while walking into work this morning!

Leaving the school where i teach knowing that i dont have to do anything that night!

Sitting outside and reading a book when its nice out

What a nice thread! Mine are

• watching the first televised Cards spring training game
• beautiful days like today
• being off work on beautiful days like today
• hearing my windchimes, especially the bamboo ones that remind me of the drum sounds in Adventureland
• being tired enough at night to fall asleep quickly
• unexpectedly hearing a (rare) favorite song on the radio
• going grocery shopping at a new-ish shopping center that plays outdoor music all year round...it reminds me so much of ambient Epcot music

First sip of hot coffee on Saturday morning...mmmmm
DS6's bear hugs and snuggles
My lab's sweet face on my lap everytime I sit down
Having lunch and girl talk with DD11
Sitting down with 2 huge newspapers on Sunday morning
A big snowfall - no school - quiet and beautiful!
Getting in bed knowing I don't have to be anywhere the next day
Having a whole afternoon to shop - alone!

Coffee and the comics in the am after the kids go to school.

I love to sit in restaurants alone and read books. I guess because I work in one the noise is comforting, and I'm alone yet not.

I also love to look up at a blue sky and see jet trails. For some reason it eminds me of good times in my childhood.

So what is the simple things in life that give you great pleasure?

That early morning coffee (or tea) - sometimes even just the scent!

Being the 1st one up in the morning and just relaxing before you start the day and the kids are up.

Lying in the grass with the kids and watching the clouds go by - sometimes playing the game where you make different objects out of them.

The scent of fresh cut grass, the crisp autumn air, wood burning, and home cooking - cookies, apple pie.

Sitting with my grandmother having a cup of tea while my kids are playing underfoot

Watching 25 four, five, six year olds "perform" various songs and poems for 100 family & friends

Making a snowman, snow angel, jumping in the leaves, running through the sprinkler.

Being an adult and doing something childish - example playing on the swings & slides at the playground.

Watching/looking at babies/young ones - human or animals - just gives you a warm feeling.
