What is your most ridiculously easy dish that draws raves?

Alfredo Sauce

1 stick butter
2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
2 cups Parmesan Cheese
Salt

Melt butter in sauce pan (double boil if possible), after butter has melted add whipping cream, salt and parmesan cheese and cook over medium heat until well blended and thickened. Pour over pasta of your choice (cook the pasta first ;) .

I make wings with this marinade and it always gets rave reviews. Its great on london broil too!

Wing or Flank Steak Marinade
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup dry white wine
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground ginger
3 tbs veg oil

Mix all together and marinate meat for at least 8 hours...overnight is better. Cook meat as you normally would. I like the wings started in the oven and finished on the grill.

Salsa and chips is the ultimate in easy appetizer! What I do to add an interesting dimension to that is to put a layer of cream cheese, then the salsa, then sprinkle some shredded Mexican cheese on top. Sometimes I microwave it so the cheese on top melts and the whole dish is warm and gooey, and sometimes I leave it all cold and creamy.

I serve with tortilla chips or, even better, Scoops corn chips (because they don't break easily while dipping, and they taste particularly good with this dip).

I'm enjoying all the recipes here. Fast and easy is my favorite category!

People love this one and I have to tell them the super easy recipe every time.

Fruit Dip
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 small jar marshmallow cream
1/2 tsp vanilla (optional)

Beat all ingredients with hand mixer and serve with strawberries.

My best friend passed this recipe on to me a number of years ago. DH refers to it as "The Dip".

16 oz. of sour cream (one small container)
packet of dry Ranch dressing/ dip mix
shredded cheddar cheese
bacon bits

add the dry mix the the sour cream and mix; mix in cheese and bacon bits to desired consistency (some like this thicker than others)

This is a very versatile dip... it can be used with tortilla chips, pretzels, potato chips (ruffled are stronger), on baked potatoes... but DH's absolute favorite is with Fritos. (Scoops work best)

As soon as I saw this, I thought it would be great on a baked potato too!!!

I discovered a bean salad this summer that went over really well at a couple of cookouts I went to.

1 can French style green beans
1 can black beans rinsed
1 can WHITE corn
chopped celery
chopped red onion (I put in yellow pepper instead)

dressing:
1/4 C veg. oil
1/4 C + 1 tsp Cider Vinegar
1 Tblsp sweetener (Splenda)
salt & pepper to taste
boil for 1 minute and pour over salad

You can either eat it right away or let it sit over night. I usually let it sit and kind of marinate in the dressing. It's a very light side dish or I have had it just for lunch. Plus, those of you on weight watchers 1 cup is only 3 points! 1 cup is a lot!!

We make these during the holidays and put them in decorative candy bags and give as gifts.

Haystacks
1 Bag of Butterscotch Morels
1 Can Chow Mein Noodles

This is so easy and everytime I take it someone always asks for the recipe!

1 block of cream cheese
1 jar of chopped green olives (drained)
1 T horseradish

Mix well and either make a ball or put in a dish and serve like a cheese ball.

one block of cream cheese
hot salsa

mix food processor until creamy....serve with taco chips !

We call it Corn Dip

1 Can MexiCorn
1/2 Cup Mayo
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
4 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese (I sometimes mix sharp and mild)
6 Green Onions chopped

Mix all and enjoy with your fav chip (really good with Fritos)

**DH said he wanted to try jalepeno's mixed in (probably really good). Also, we played around with adding taco seasoning and it was good.

graham cracker crust topped with

cream cheese mixed with however much sugar you like (I use 2 pkgs with 1 C of sugar in an oblong cake pan)

slice bananas on top of cream cheese

spread drained crushed pineapple on top of bananas

slice strawberries on top of pineapple

top with cool whip

This is mom's recipe. She didn't invent it of course, but she's been making it for years, and my sil keeps taking credit for it, bragged about winning a contest at church with it like we had never heard of it, gave the recipe to my sister in one of those bridal shower things, made it for so and so's b-day and "everyone just loved it, you got to try it", etc. It just cracks us up whenever one of us makes "sil's desert".

Autumn Pork Chops
Pork Chops
2 cups apple juice
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Place pork chops in crockpot. Add apple juice and cinnamon. Cook on low 7-10 hours (depends on if you're using thick or thin pork chops).

Makes the house smell fantastic! Serve with couscous and/or a sweet potato.

Here's a variation of pork chops & apple juice with the addition of boxed stuffing:

Pork Chops With Apples & Stuffing

4-6 Pork chops
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 (6 ounce) package stuffing mix (any flavor)
Apple juice
1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling, with cinnamon

Optional: some re-plumped up raisins & maybe chopped walnuts.

Brown pork chops in oil over medium-high heat. Do not cook all the way. Take out chops.

In same pan, deglaze the pan using apple juice. (Deglazing is scraping & stirring up the browned bits of meat & drippings in the pan with a liquid, to be used for a gravy.) Add enough apple juice (in place of water) to make the stuffing mix according to package directions. Add in a few spoons of the apple pie filling for flavoring. Set aside.

Spread stuffing mix in the bottom of a greased 8x8” baking pan.

Place pork chops on top so the juices from the pork chops will keep flavoring the stuffing, as they continue to cook.

Mix raisins & chopped walnuts into pie filling.
Spoon pie filling over top; cover with aluminum foil.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

The apple juice, drippings & pie filling really add flavor & zing to the stuffing and unify all the flavors.

The pie filling and stuffing can be adapted for chicken instead, too. Use peach pie filling and orange juice with chicken.

:cool1:

Easiest, flavorful turkey burgers;

For each 1/4 pound ground turkey burger, mix with 2 Tbs of blue cheese dressing. Marinate 10 minutes or more. (More is better.) (Use regular ground turkey, not ground turkey breast, for more flavor.)

OR: Take 1/4 lb. ground turkey burger, mix with 2 Tbs of ranch dressing, 1 tsp melted butter & 1 Tbs of grated Parmesan cheese and S&P. Marinate 10 minutes or more.

These grill great on the George Foreman grill too. They come out as exceptionally juicy, flavorful burgers. Yum! :teeth:

Alternately, you can slather on the ranch dressing mixture, above, on chicken breast or thighs. Can be done with or without the skin on. If leaving skin on, make sure you put some dressing under the skin as well as over. Broil at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes, turn over. Broil about another 5 minutes, or till done.

I almost posted this one also. It's a favorite around here for get togethers and such an easy dish to make.

We love cake mix cookies!

I saw that HUGE thread! They are good and easy (cheaper to make too)! I made some for my child's class last year. :)

Hey! That's MY thread I started. :woohoo:

Cookies from cake mixes! Also: BISCOTTI and Cookie BARS

It has now been made a permanent sticky on the Cooking Board. It gets about 200 hits every 2 days. So I am really happy it's so useful to people. :cool1:

I just added some cookie recipes with cream cheese in them. I figure they are slightly more healthy with a bite of cream cheese. :rotfl:

I'll be adding some more recipes in a few days. :)

:goodvibes

This is just a different slant on peppermint bark.

FRUIT BARK

White chocolate for melting.

Candied fruit.

Pour white chocolate over candied fruit and let cool, then break apart. This looks really pretty at Christmas time.
