What is Your Magic Combination for Split Stays?

Only July 4 and NYE times are planned split stays. We start at BLT for the MK fireworks, then either BWV or BCV for Epcot’s fireworks.

Actually next year will be our second split stay around Easter. First VGF to see the Easter Eggs then either Epcot resort for Epcots Flower and Garden.

One son has asked for a BCV stay in October, and they need a two bedroom, so it’s pretty much BWV for our Epcot stays next year prior to October.

Our two favorites to split are Wilderness Lodge (either BRV or CCV; we own both) and AKV (preferably Jambo, but we do also like Kidani, especially for the extra bathroom). This puts us close to the Magic Kingdom for BRV/CCV (we love taking the boat to the MK) and Animal Kingdom for AKV, our two favorite parks. And they are both about equidistant to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

We do also now own at RIV, so sometimes we split one or the other or both with RIV, to give us that easy Epcot and Hollywood Studios access (though I'd rather own Beach Club, personally, but we bought RIV in summer 2022 for around $145/point after incentives, and I don't like that BCV is ending in 2042 and costs so much, so RIV it is!). This means sometimes we split 3 resorts, and sometimes 2, depending on what we want to do during our stay. At present, it actually tends to mean we do more shorter trips and pick a resort close to what we want to do. At the end of August/early September, we are doing a split stay between CCV and AKV. In November, we are doing RIV for Food & Wine.

I like Poly and BWV. Gives you close access to MK snd Epcot and DHS and they’re very different from each other, so it’s a nice change. We own at both. Did this combo on our last trip in May. It was nice.
Poly is also close to Epcot; all you have to do is hop on the Epcot monorail, an easy walk from Poly.

AKV (our home resort) and either SSR or OKW for access to Disney Springs and all that food!

Yes, and I love Poly but it’s not the same as being able to walk there
Polynesian is not one of my home resorts, but it does have arguably one of the best Disney locations. We added Riviera to have an Epcot/HS location to go along with our MK resorts VGF CCV
Riviera is a great location, not quite as good as BC and BW IMO but pretty close.

easy Skyliner ride to DHS from RR
Maybe at mid-day, but it was a 40 min PIA in the morning to get to DH having to wait at CB in line with all of CB and AoA. The ride to Epcot is easy, not HS. I will take the 15 min boat over the 40 min with a transfer Skyliner.

It probably depends on the time of year and how close to early open you go. We were there a few weeks ago and went to HS at opening..got on at RIV around 8:20 am and we were in the park by 8:40 for early entry. The lines at CBR were pretty small but it was already 8:30 so maybe that made the difference?

Any time but for Rope Drop - it was fine 20-25 min all in.

CCV and AKV for immersive theme relaxing time at a resort.
BWV and VGF for walking access to parks.

My last trip we did BLT and VGF for Magic Kingdom. Then off to BWV for a few days and Hollywood Studios. Then Animal Kingdom for AK. Then BCV for Epcot and departure day. It was divine. Didnʻt mind the moving but I probably wouldn't do it again. Pretty epic. We were going to do Copper Creek instead of a night at BWV but I thought it would be 'too much'! LOL!

I like to do a monorail resort for the first half of our trip and BWV for the second half. Now that I have a VGF contract, we'll spend most of our time there, but we do like BLT and Poly depending on who is coming with us. I really like walking to/from parks when possible and this gives us the best way to do that. We drive to AK since we usually have a car.

We aren't a big split stay family but found this triple split escalator vacation was fun (the rooms get bigger at each move).
We'd never been to any of these resorts.

Poly studio 2 nights (they had just opened, the only time we've stayed in a studio)
OKW 5 nights 1 bedroom
Beach Club 5 nights 2 bedroom

For split stays, we like to book an MK area resort and an Epcot/DHS area resort. Prefer to be in the parks or enjoying the resort, than dealing with transportation.
