AK just doesn't have enough to keep us entertained. Our AK day is planned for the morning before our MVMCP night

I'd have to say AK, and even that one I'd be hard pressed to miss on a trip. It's the only park that I truly feel I can do everything I want to with less than 12 hours in the actual park. Actually with doing Sunrise Safari this next trip and skipping FOTLK at DH's request my guess is we'll finish what we like to do in 5 hours or less.

Hollywood Studios. Not enough there to do with a toddler... Even before kids we were in and out within a couple hours. Animal kingdom is another that we are out of pretty quickly, but there is something for everyone to enjoy there.

Studios for us. It's a half day park at best.

I agree. Last trip we spent a total of 4 hours there. The stage shows are a waste and the food is poor

I like all the parks, but in order of our preference, it is:
1. Epcot
2. AK
3. HS
4. MK

I know it's totally different than most people, but thank goodness we all don't think alike. :)

Animal Kingdom. I'm just not fond of the theming, the limited eating options and limited rides. We spend a day here and are happy with that. Epcot, DHS and MK are all minimum two day parks for us. (Our last trip saw us spend 5 days in MK.) It is just pure Disney magic and I love it!

Epcot is my second least favourite. 'Future World' is not futuristic and badly needs work, although logistically I can't see how they'd update the whole area from the 1970s concrete setting.

I completely am okay with people voting AK because they don't like animals or if they're totally into ride-style attractions or because they think it's hotter there.

But, I really don't understand the "not laid out well". I don't get that at all. It's a hub and spike model. You know, like the Magic Kingdom.

Is the issue that the trail from point A to point B is not a geometric shape, like the walkways at MK or Epcot?

I mean, really, if one is going to complain about a park that's poorly laid out, I have no idea how you don't vote for the studios.

I am one of the ones who mentioned about the lay out but the animals is my main reasoning. But to give you an insight as to why I said it....I do get that it is a hub and spoke but there are a couple things that I feel set it apart from MK making it a little "harder" to navigate. AK is the largest park and I think it feels every part of it. Once you make it far back into one of the "lands" you can't just walk to the next one easily. You have to back track (quite a ways in some cases) to get back to a point where you can cross over. Anyone feel free to correct me if I am remembering this wrong....I believe that Asia is "connected directly" to the two surrounding lands without going back to the center but if you are trying to navigate from between any of the other lands there isn't a direct connecting path say towards the middle of the lands forcing you to walk back through the center to get to where you want to go. With MK it is a much smaller park and there seems to be easier ways to walk all the way around the park without returning to the center. With AK you are further out and you need to return towards the center to get from some of the lands to others. I think if they had a "circular" path similar to the path in the center of the park that was towards the middle or outside edges of the lands connecting them all some you don't have to trek back it would be a lot easier....IMHO.

Animal Kingdom... I hate the layout! Even though there are some things there that I love and enjoy, I just can't spend an entire day there.

Epcot used to be my least favorite when I was a kid and now it is my favorite along with MK!

Epcot: The shows at HS & AK are better. While Soarin is one of the best rides at Disney World, the rest, including Test Track, don't stand out from the crowd. I do love the Food & Wine concert series though.

You mean how you can get from Tomorrowlahd to Adventureland without going to the hub?

Or how you can go from Soarin to Test Track without backtracking through the center of Epcot. Or how you can get from RocknRoller Coaster to ANYWHERE without backtracking?

Animal Kingdom, but only because we usually go in the summer, and it's so HOT!!!

With all due respect, I did not post that to start a fight. I was simply lending an answer to your confusion on why people were saying that the lay out is harder to navigate. I certainly cannot speak for the rest of the board but I was giving an explanation as to why I said it and why I feel that way. As I stated AK is the largest park so distance wise back tracking is more cumbersome than at the other parks. Atleast IMO....If you really didn't want someone to explain their thoughts maybe you should of kept yours to yourself.....

AK mildly beats HS for us. For some reason it always feels SO hot at AK, and there just isn't enough for our family. We have a timid 7 year old. All we get are the Lion King show and the Safari. The rest is either too fast, too scary or too "baby" for him..lol. HS is only remotely better and that's because he loves TSMM so much. Without it, I'm sure we would skip the park completely. At least it's a small park.

Oh my gosh, I thought it was just me! Why does it always seem so hot at AK? In December! Granted, it is Florida, but come on! The first time I went I had like a hot flash/claustrophobia thing that had nothing to do with my age! LOL! Last time we went I had to force myself to stay for my grandson, who just played on the playground stuff--and I thought, gee--we have slides at home. The lay out is aaaagghhhh, and I am a walking woman, now. But I always feel lost there. I mean, even more lost than usual. And I am left handed, so I am used to being semi-lost.

DHS--Four trips, and I haven't even been yet. Sounds like something we can miss. I miss the layout of Disneyland, where all the stuff is so easy to get to.

My favorite is Magic Kingdom. My DH's favorite is Epcot. I like Epcot, too, but he will Epcot me to death if I don't watch him. He likes the MUSIC at Epcot. He says it is so relaxing. LOL. Weirdo.

Just booked our first trip in 5 years to WDW, taking two of the oldest grandkids (7 and 3)...can't wait!!

166 Days...almost 165 days! Got most of the ADR's I wanted, which was a nice surprise. I had to move things around some, but I managed!

AK - is our families least favorite. We go there to ride Everest (as many times in a few hours as we can), my boys like to ride Kali Rapids with their dad (a tradition), sometimes we do A Bugs life, have a few photo ops at different angles with the Tree of life - then we are pretty much done after lunch with AK for the trip. We use to ride Kilimanjaro but the last few trips - it's just been okay. The park is gorgeous and love all the theming - there's just not enough to do for our family. Would love the Imagineers to do more with the park. :)

For HS, I would drop the whole backlot concept and re-work it to emphasize Disney's properties: Pixar, Muppets, Marvel and Lucasfilm. Each franchise would get there own area with rides/restaurants/shops. Of course I'd keep TOT and R&RC and update TGMR.

For AK, I'd scrap Dinoland and maybe dedicate an area exclusive to Australian or North American animals. Of course the Yeti would be un-strobed :) and made show ready. Add in a few coasters and dark rides based on The Jungle Book, Lion King and maybe Brother Bear.[/QUOTE]

Love these ideas! Esp your ideas for AK!! Maybe you should try to get a job pitching ideas go the imagineers. Especially the ones @ AK. :)
