Okay, we all talk about goals like I want to lose X amount of weight, I want to be healthier, etc., but what are some other goals you have? Mine is to finally wear a two piece swimsuit this summer!!

As far as a weight goal, I really would like to lose 7 more pounds so I can officially be Half of my former self! ( gotta love the dancing banana..) For non-weight related goals, I'm training for the full marathon (goal is to finish it!), and I would really like to do the Danskin Triathlon at Disney in 2006. It benefits breast cancer research, and alot of survivors do it - I just think it would be so inspiring, and I would be doing it in memory of my grandmother who I never got to meet. For a more immediate goal, I would also love to wear a 2-piece bathing suit this summer, but I probably need skin-reduction surgery to make that happen without scaring everyone at the beach! Good thread! Goals always keep me more focused and motivated - thanks for the reminder!!!

One of the things that started me on this journey was the fact I was almost no longer able into fit into my favorite "The Beast" at Kings Island. I needed ride operator help to get the two clicks required and that second click almost didn't happen. There were other roller coaster before that I couldn't ride (Any ride by Bolliger & Mabillard like Hulk and Dueling Dragon), but they didn't effect me like almost losing this one. When I went to Kings Island for Fear Fest in October, I was able to ride "The Beast" with out any trouble. I was also able to ride "Flight of Fear" which I hadn't been able to ride in over 2 years since they changed the restraints. My current goal non weight goal is to get down to a 40" waist so I can ride Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force at Cedar Point. I have never been able to ride these ride because I am too large for the seats. I would have actually fit not if it had not been for the accident on Superman Ride of Steel where a large person fell out of the train (Same company made all three coaster). Cedar point shortened the seat belt to keep this from happening there as well. I had ridden that Superman Ride of Steel before when I was over 350lbs and felt perfectly secure. I still think there was something else at work. I know safety need to come first but I would think that they would have used to off season to look into alternate restraint designs that would allow a wide variety of people to ride. For example, "Revenge of the Mummy", at Universal can securely restrain passangers up to between 48" - 50" waist (I think that back row has a little more room). Sorry for such a long post for what should be a simple question.

I love reading inspirational stories from you guys!!! Great job on the losses!!

I used to think I wanted to be in the 140's...my wedding weight was 138 and I give myself some cushion...but now I'm just going to be thrilled to fit into some jeans I bought last year on clearance...it was just soo much fun buying size 10 again! So whatever my weight is..as long as I can wear those jeans/pants without leaving a red pressure ring around my waist or hips...then I know I'm there! :)

Now what I'm going to do when I reach goal is a whole nother thing...I'm going to go ice skating, roller blading, water skiing..all the things that these extra pounds prohibited me from for fear of the extra weight causing damage in any fall! :)

Keep posting guys!

to be free from blood pressure meds!!! :cool1:

my gp doesn't think weight is an issue- since i'm 5'9" and weigh 170- almost at healthy bmi-

i keep telling myself that that another 30lbs- will lower my bp enough

i'f not at least i tried :confused3 - and i'll fit into a size 8 jeans :cheer2:

njcarita, I am there with ya! I want off the meds. A friend of mine (who is also on BP med) told me once you go on you'll never come off. Well, I AM going to kick the meds to the curb! You can do it!

I have set up, in my mind, 3 goals March 25 is the 25th anniversary of our first date and I am planning a surprise weekend at Grove Park Inn. I am working on dropping 25 lbs for that trip. Then, in May my youngest graduates from HS and I want to wear something doesn't look like my mother! So, that is my 50 lb. down goal. Then, there are about 30 lbs. that need to disappear before I go skiing in CO for Christmas. I want to be able to get around without having heart flutters.

You all are soooo inspiring with your goals. I am pulling for you all!

I would say my main goal is that I will be the big 50 next January and I want to head into the next decade of my life as healthy as possible. So far I don't have any meds and want to keep it that way. Also would like to see single digits in clothing - sigh.......what a beautiful thought:):)

Have a magical Disney Day!!:)

I have several goals.. My weight goal is 75 pounds.. My next goal once I accomplish that is to purchase a new wardrobe!! I cant wait for that... My other goals I have is to spend more family time with my kids and to get more organized.. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I have some goals in mind. One is not to eat so late at night. Another is to get more muscle. I'm not saying that I want to look like a body builder or anything, just to get that lean muscle look.

My goals are:

-to have more energy to run around with my kids
-to downhill ski again
-to be able to ride a bike again
-to not feel like I'm the biggest person in a room
-to not cringe when I see pictures of myself
-that physical activity become an integral part of family life
-to bounce up a flight of stairs and not be out of breath
-to set a better example of healthy living for my children
-to conquer once and for all my addiction to food (quitting smoking was easy!!! Why is food so hard???)
-to never, ever worry again about fitting in to a seat, chair, ride, booth, turnstile, etc.
-to know that I did the best I could with the knowlege I had. That there is no doubt I gave it 100%.
-to fall in love again
