What is your favourite condiment?

Really depends on what I am eating - I have far too many different condiments.

I like Piri Piri hot sauce for many things.

I usually mix Siracha and Dukes mayo for several things - especially French fries.

I get a German curry ketchup for many things - like brats.

For hotdogs I prefer a spicy German mustard or a whole grain mustard (or a mix of both)

"Irish Style" Curry sauce is also very good for French fries - you used to have to buy it in a packet and heat water and mix it yourself and it was Ok but not the same as what you get at a chip shop - but now they have a premade in a squirt bottle and its really good.

And of course I have numerous hot sauces ranging from tabasco to habanero and ghost pepper.
My husband got Bisto Curry sauce but it was not like what we got at a chippy at all. 🤢

Yeah the Chef chip shop curry sauce in the squeeze bottle is new and its very close - i picked up 5 of them my last trip home.
McDonnells also makes one in the squeeze bottle and its also very close.

Foodireland sells both of these and I would highly recommend them.

But which mayo is the key here - there is a whole battle over the various brands of Mayo so choose wisely ;)
Hellmann's works. I've tried Dukes in the past, as a result of this board but didn't find it anything special.

I love this so much!

Saucy Susan is one of those things that I don't look for all the time but it is perfect with pork loin or a chicken recipe I decided I don't love. It can be tough to find but I try to keep it around, I love how it has such an old fashioned look, very endearing and nostalgic like I just pulled it from Grandma's Frigidaire.

For a friend’s big block party I bought 10lbs of chicken drumsticks and thighs on great sale. Roasted them 425f to real crispy and fat melted out (basted a couple times). Drained off excess fat, lightly slathered them in a combo of these*, covered and let sit 2 hours until I arrived to the block party grill for a quick heat up and caramelization. There was a line as batches came off the grill until they were gone. Cheap and easy and everyone went crazy!

*used very similar Gold’s Duck Sauce -it’s often on half price sale

I am not a big fan of condiments. I hate a wet sandwich. I don’t do ketchup, mustard, mayo, salad dressing (except oil and vinegar), or any kind of spread such as horseradish. I guess the only thing I occasionally eat that might qualify as a condiment is A-1 Steak Sauce on the rare occasion that I eat a steak. Even then, I would prefer to have the steak plain, but sometimes they are a little dry.

Is butter a condiment? If so then that’s the winner in our house

I’m such a fan of most condiments.
My absolute favourite is tartar sauce on my fish ’n chips. I will order fish n chips at a restaurant just to have the tartar sauce lol.

It's of course dependent on what I'm putting it on.

I like Kikoman made in Japan soy sauce in the PET bottle. Better than what they make in Wisconsin or Folsom, California.

For anything with heat, maybe El Yucateco Mayan Recipe. It's good and doesn't have bright, unnatural colors like their other sauces.

And for ketchup, I rather like regular Heinz. I do have a lot of saved up Simply Heinz (which uses sucrose instead of HCFC) but I don't find it any better.

And one thing that is rather underrated is liquid smoke. Hickory works pretty well, but sometimes I like mesquite.
